If I had sold on June 8 I could have paid for our pool that's being started in Nov. They didn't hit my sell target so I didn't...I showed them.

I don't own the stock. But a few years back Ron Baron really backed it and he has not been wrong a lot. In this particular interview he said he had wanted to do a deal with Bezos early on to sell an auction house but thought he was a nut job (my term). He said when he met Elon he got the same feeling and would not make the same mistake twice.

I’m heavy in GMGI. It got approval to be up listed to the nasdaq in 10 days. It has a float of 10.5 mil. With most being held by Longs. It touched 7.54 this week currently running $6.79. I’m in at $3.50. It should run to $10-15 before up listing and mid $20 after. Don’t miss this one.

The reason I ask is that I'm just seeing so many stocks like that. Sorry, I'm not picking on these two stocks. You just happened to mention them and they're a prime example of what I'm seeing with so many stocks. BTW, you're reasoning for eyeing up these two certainly makes sense to me. Though you may want to be careful because when something makes sense to me, the opposite usually turns out to be true. Lol.
It just reminds me so much of what I observed earlier this year before the market tanked.
My point (concern?) is, just how high can these stocks (and all the many others that shot up like this post-recovery) keep going?

Anyone catch the opportunity in BDX this AM?
If you own them for the long term does it matter?
Looking at the price chart over the past year for these two stocks, has anyone noticed that after they fully recovered from the pandemic drop, the price just continued well upward of the pre-pandemic high?

True, but if you don't, how high is too high to get in? My thinking has been in line with Brad1 - when I see stocks well above their pre-covid highs, it just makes me wonder if there will be a correction, leaving me high and dry if I buy in now.

not saying this is or isn’t priced correctly... for me it comes down to do you think you can get a reasonable rate of return going out 5-10-20 years? and what is the total allocation given to any specific company...investing isn’t a one time event...
Ultimately, you can stand on the dock and watch the ship sail or you can board @ your port of choosing...

You guys are so funny...what about F, GE SPR, XOM and Boston Market?
How about UNP @ 11.70, BDX @$1.85, WMT @$19, BRK.b @$42 BA@$11.87, GIS @$6.70, IBM @$24, ABT @ $14-the list goes on...notice anything in common...all of them, not including dividends are up more than 500%. You know what else they have in common? Most of them, at some point after purchasing some shares were probably down 20% or more...Both are pretty common place in my view. Then there are those pesky dividends- BA at @$11.87 has return ~$55/sh in dividends....
It’s the totality of what you do as an investor, understanding full well I’m not going to be correct 100% of the time...and even with GE, F, SPR you have a number of options including doing nothing and hope they become bond like, sell and reallocated the capital or probably better yet add shares at these levels. The reality, mostamateurs er, investors can’t do that, they are too busy being focused on the wrong things.....
