Default "MUST READ" Firing weapons off in populated areas

The 4th is upon us and there's always somebody who doesn't think and fires off rounds where they shouldn't.
Not a good idea to say the least.

Was watching our local Fox 13 news this morning and a technology called SHOTSPOTTER is being implemented for gun fire detection.

Apparently it's been out for awhile and getting utilized more and more by law enforcement agencies across the US.

The map within the SHOTSPOTTER link isn't updated as to which departments have it in use.

Might not want to be firing off rounds in populated areas or expect for a few officers to be coming your way.

How stupid or drunk do you have to be to start shooting off your gun in a populated area.

Stupid people get stupider when consuming alcohol or drugs.

I know someone that got into their car on July 5th to find a hole in the windshield and top of the dash. It was repaired at the dealer and when they replaced the dash they found a .45 cal slug in there. This was in a residential neighborhood.

Steel shot only. Kinda expensive, but no lead contamination.

Remember when we stripped the roof on the old house.
Found a few slugs buried in the plywood.

http://https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shannon%27s_law_(Arizona)#/search

It's called Shannon's Law here in Arizona, named after a 14 year old girl that was killed in her own backyard by a bullet some idiot shot into the air on New Years Eve.

Still, it goes on, every holiday. Especially in the Hispanic areas. (Not racist) I live right next to Guadalupe, technically an Yaqui Indian reservation. When I hear a magazine of 9 being unloaded, I go into the house.

City of Phoenix does use the Shot Spotter technology.

When I was a kid we used to take the 22s out in the non populated parts of the Miami area towards the glades. I guess it is harder to find someplace to shoot for free in the USA.

South Dallas has a history of that. Keeps the cops busy.

Saginaw, Michigan bought a ShotSpotter system years ago- first Michigan city to buy one. Thugs pretty quickly figured out they could fire a dozen rounds in one part of the city and, when the cops rushed over there, commit a crime somewhere else.

Why are lead shotgun bee-bees any worse than lead that goes in the water from lost sinkers, metallic lead is pretty unreactive. I've always thought the prohibition on lead shot when waterfowl hunting was to keep the lead out of the birds

You would be surprised, I have been in the inner city when idiots fire them up in the air, so make no mistake, just because you can earn the money to buy a gun does not make you smart enough to own a gun!!!!

It can be ingested by birds feeding in the shallows, causes lead poising.
