Default Do you own or would buy a Tesla?

The neighborhood I live in has a half dozen or so Teslas. I haven't had a chance to meet anyone that own one, so do you or would you own one. I am not a tree hugger, but some of them look pretty cool.

First time you run out of power and on the side of the road, you'll wish you bought a regular car.

I see them sitting at charging stations at highway rest stops in CT and can't help but think how waiting must really suck.

I already own stock in the company through the 4.9 billion in government money Musk has been given, I should at least be able to use one for a week or so

I don't own one but I'd consider buying one if they were less expensive. That's not to suggest they aren't worth the asking price. Paying that much for any car is difficult for me to justify.

I like the styling and the acceleration of the Tesla...but I'm a gas and oil guy all the way.

A friend of mine has one. It is comfortable, fast and I like the styling. I'd own one, but it is out of the budget I allow for cars.

I have only seen a few and only got to ride about 3/4 of a mile in one.
A customer came into our shop with one and after I asked him about it, he offered to zip me around the block in it.

I thought it was pretty sweet. I would drive one in a heartbeat. But the truth of the matter is, I will never be in a financial bracket to afford one. Well, maybe I can get a 2016 in like 2026, so who knows.

Why not? Cool cars and fast. Exactly the opposite of a Prius. If you could convince me that driving them would piss off Prius owners I'd be even more inclined to want one.

No, Elon Musk is paying for it.

Don't have one, would gladly own one but it's not in the budget right now.

Exactly the way I feel too. I never checked to see how well they hold their value in the used car market.

Are you guys simply against electric ? or is there another reason ....

The Tesla S is one heck of a good looking car.... And if you can go 400 miles on a charge thats more than many cars go on a tank of fossil fuel....
