Default Mint julep.

I'm pleased to say the mint plants have sprouted up far enough in Michigan to make juleps. Fresh mint, fine sugar, ice, a bottle of small batch Rebel Yell- ah, Springtime!

Sounds good, that is one thing I really miss about not going to the K Derby any longer.

We go to a K Derby party at friends house every year. Doesn't a mint julep made on site with the official K Derby bourbon cost like a grand?

Pinkies up!

I like a good mojito...place down the street makes a mean one that has been passed down from owner's wife's family back in Cuba

Mint jelly goes good with lamb. And of course juleps.

I was always told the best mint grows next to the hound dog's water bowl.

There is a special julep sold at the Derby for $1K. Woodford Reserve bourbon, Irish mint, ice made from Bavarian Alps spring water, Australian sugar and served in a gold-plated cup with a silver straw. I've had a julep at Churchill Downs, made with Early Times Kentucky Whiskey. It was more reasonably priced.

I learned to savor a julep made with Rebel Yell bourbon and local ingredients when I was at UGA. Have a special patch of mint outside the laundry room door and enjoy juleps with the wife during Derby Week.

Maybe if you're in Millionaires row, but not for the rest of us. Like at most sporting events, still over-priced but not anywhere close to $1k.

Last time I was there I think they were $11 a pop. The first time I ever had one I thought it was the worst drink I have ever had, after the second I thought hummmmmmm this is kind of growing on me, after the 30th I was hooked.
