Default Microtech utx-70 rant POS!

Well I bought my wife a out the front microtech utx-70, for safety and everyone should carry a pocket knife in my opinion. What a POS. Knife opens and closes about 50% of the time. I would not recommend microtech to anyone. For a $250-300 knife it's def not worth it. This is my fist and last purchase from microtech. The more complaints I read on line just reassures my dissapoinent for this purchase and a company that does not stand behind its product. Let my loss be a lesson to anyone on the fences. Stay away from MICROTECH products!

From my experience most OTF knives feel less than amazing, I haven't found one I loved, even the $400 benchmades.

Four of my favorite blades if you want to check them out.

DPx Gear HEST Folder (love this knife, feels solid in the hand)
DPx Gear HEAT Folder (basically a shorter version of the above)
Hideaway Knives Tiger Claw (super simple, fits in a watch pocket on most pants)
Opinel Number 6 Carbon (It's $12, keep it sharp and it will cut anything, It's $12)

WOW! $300 for a pocket knife!

I use a Swiss army Tinker, woke carries a small Old Timer. Together they don't cost $75.

Sounds like you bought it and researched it after the fact. Why in the hell would you spend such money for a pocket knife?

I have a Benchmade auto knife (a gift) that has taken a beating and still works like new.

Once you go to a high quality knife, it really is hard to go back.

The question is, how much are you willing to pay and then actually use it?

Ha. I feel you. I himhawed and himhawed around about getting a Hinderer XM-18. Finally got one and have had it for months. I have yet to carry it or really even use it as I don't want to screw it up or have it fall out of my pocket. Sometimes my dumbassery amazes even myself.

For safety reasons? Just what would they be? Nothing like getting up close and personal to use a knife for safety reasons
Should have bought here a handgun.

Very surprised, Microtech are known for high quality, American made knives. I own a few & love em!

It's my wife's keychain knife. Smallest blade/style that I thought would work for her.

As for guns, don't have any!

A knife is a tool used frequently.

As for Costas they stand behind there product in my experiences as microtech does not!

Just want to give any people on the fences, do not purchase a microtech knife as they do not have customer service.

There are a lot of decent/functional EDC knives for under $100. Very few if any great ones. Just like there are probably still a lot of "good' boats for under $50k.

lot of ppl love them, Mircotech never appealed to me. I know one of the bigger complaints is customer service when it comes to warranty repair.
