Default Sleep Number Bed

Looking for opinions. Good, bad, gimmick? Not sure I will be able to sleep good if I spend 8 to 10 g's on a bed. Went by the store kinda on a spur of the moment and am flabbergasted at the prices.

Where did you go and what did you look at? That's incredible, 10G.

I have two of them and just the mattress and base were under $2000. Wife and I love them.

Ditched our POS tempurpedic for one about 3 months ago. Amazed at how well I sleep now. No sore muscles or back problems. No more waking up every hour due to aches or excess heat. I sleep on 85, and the wife sleeps on 45.
Definitely worth the chance I took.

Love it. Don't get one with pillow top, just lower to mid model.

Went through higher end spring or foam ones with pillow tops that had impressions or sags in a few years, pissed me off.
The sleep number is 5 years old, sleeps like it did when we got it.

Only worth it if you need the reclining model.

I change my mattress every five years anyways, bed bugs and all.

Change the box spring when it starts "squeaking" while your gettin busy. You can get an extra year out of the box spring by buying a sheet of 4x8 1/2" plywood and putting in between the springs and mattress.

Damn, don't tell them about the bed bugs, they will. Come and take them away.

Then I won't have any more bait.

I've had a Select Comfort mattress since before they were Sleep Numbers, at least 15 years. I think we paid less than $1200 for it. Any conventional mattress would have been replaced at least twice by now. We are very happy to have purchased ours.

They used to have a 90 day trial period. I don't know if they still do that but if they do, what have you got to lose?

Ditto, we bought our first one 15 years years ago, it was $1500. In September we bought our second one with a 4 inch pillow top. They are both great

I'm neutral about our 8yo king. My wife, on the other hand, refuses to sleep on it. Says it makes her back hurt. I wouldn't buy another.

I am skeptical of a bed with moving parts. I bought a sleep number bed and returned it. It was good for the week or 2 that I had it. I've had a tempurpedic mattress for about 2 years now. Can't be happier

Original Mattress Factory. I think we paid 1,500 for our king a few years ago. Think it was one level below the highest grade they offered (which basically means we didn't get memory foam). Pillow top on both sides. It is AWESOME (except when we have to flip it...then I want to throw it out of the house

10g for a mattress is unthinkable.

We've had a sleep number bed since late 90s. Best purchase we've ever made. Find your sleep number and you'll have the best nights sleep ever. I remember starting out at 85 and now for a number of years my sleep number is 45. Had one section of the side frame to crack after 10 years use and Sleep Number replaced the section at no cost.

We had one in our motorhome and loved it. Now have one at home. Bought a level 5 and put a 2" memory foam on it. A good night sleep every night. Don't buy the most expensive model.

My wife dragged me there a week or so ago. 15g for the one that we liked? Ya right. Thats's nuts. I am calling BS.

Started digging online. Anyone hear of or try Purple mattress? Think I am going to give it a try.
