Default Dog ( Labrador) steals Semi truck... crashes......Police will not charge..

HEY...THAT WAS A HECK OF A LOT OF MORE FUN THAN CHASING SOME OLD STICK!"

Associated Press

One dog apparently has learned a new trick: how to drive a semi-truck.
Customers at a Minnesota gas station saw a golden Labrador retriever appear to drive the semi across a road Friday.
Mankato police say the idling truck apparently was put into gear, then went through a parking lot, across the street and over a curb.

The Free Press of Mankato reports a passer-by discovered the dog sitting in the driver's seat when he jumped into the truck to stop it.

David Stegora was at the store when he heard the truck smash into a tree and a parked car. He couldn't see the driver, but saw the dog climb up near the driver's side.
'I heard the tree snap and I thought somebody decided to turn around, but then it just kept going forward,' he told The Free Press of Mankato.
Police Cmdr. Dan Schisel said the truck was taken off the road. The driver had left the unoccupied truck running in a nearby parking lot.

Police will not be pressing and charges against the dog because animals don't go to jail. Whether or not his owner will put him in the dog house is another story. Police have not said if they are charging the dog's owner, who has not been identified, over the incident.
'All I know is it was a Labrador,' Schisel said.

Yup, makes perfect sense for a lab! I've had three, my current pup is 5 months, and their shenanigans will make you scratch your head so much you'll wear a hole in your hair. You'll break your face smiling and laughing too.

Clearly not the dog's fault. I blame the dog's owner for poor instruction & no incentive.

My Lab could parallel park that F'ing thing for a bacon strip & pat on the head.....

I blame those damn suburu commercials. Got into it with my lab the other night. She insisted the laws changes and she could drive now. Dumb bitch.

A bud left his lab in the truck with the stickshift in first, and parking brake on but not enough. Went into a store and dog knocked stick into N and downhill it went. Crunched a car to stop. I think my bud got a ticket for something and had to pay to fix the car.

Another bud has his lab absolutely destroy his leather seats. And this was after years of being completely ok in the car. Just one day decided to freak out.

Both guys still love their dogs. I guess it is a lab thing!!

A seasoned driver or anyone that drives a diesel knows leaving it in gear has no bearing on anything. there is no compression like there would be in a gas job. It's all about the brakes
My guess what happened here is the driver didn't set the brakes on the tractor and trailer. Most likely set only on the tractor and the dog pushed the knob.
