Default Pay it forward

Just bought dinner for a random couple that sat next to my family tonight. They still don't know it yet. Perhaps I will never be rich, but man that feels good. Nice young couple.

Well done. Some day, when you least expect it, it will come back around.

Good for you for that kind gesture!

About 2 mo. ago, the wife and I did that for a county policeman meeting his wife and infant for his lunch break. He managed to guess who did it, although I told the waitress NOT to tell.

He was very grateful for that and it made our day to "give back" to an LEO and his family.

Makes you feel GREAT, doesn't it!

Regards,

Ive done that several times for cops who come in to eat while on duty.. most of the times I did it the waitress commented that its the first time she's seen someone do that.. I find that hard to believe and hope its done for our military and police more than I realize. Well done OP.

When it comes to pay if forward JPCANNING is the only one that comes to mind. The OBX tour I got this summer was still one of the coolest trips i've been on in a while. Thanks again JP!

Nice man, that Mr C is.

Pulled up to the Dairy Queen drive up window a few nights ago to find the woman ahead of me had paid for my order. It was a neat surprise. I didn't know her but noticed that her car had several dog rescue stickers on the back so I'll be paying it forward tomorrow by dropping off a bag of dog food at our local animal rescue.

...was at a Love's truck stop yesterday and noticed an old, nasty van with IL plates parked at the curb, chock full of stuff, and with two dogs on top of the pile. Lady that looked homeless was toting a gas can to the pumps and written on the can, " Out of Gas", so it looked like a desperation scene.

Gave her $20 and said, "here, get the pups some treats", so she wouldn't be offended.

Those of us that can put $200 worth of fuel into our boats or motor homes without blinking an eye can afford to ease the lives of those less (much less) fortunate.

I bought lunch for a cop behind me in line at Chipotle last week. Think she thought I was hitting on her... She could have kicked my butt, that's for sure!

Really magical when you don't tell anyone about. Try it next time.

I had a lady in our restaurant this morning who paid for a little old lady sitting by herself. I figured she knew her. When the little old lady came up to pay and I told it was already paid for she almost started crying, she had no idea who the lady was. It meant a lot to her. We see it all the time with veterans and the police. There are a lot of really great people out there.

Two things- I was hammered - didn't recall typing the OP second, I didn't tell anyone but you guys. I treat this site like fishing buddies. I forgot there can be dicks on here. Not you, of course.
