Default Engagement Ring Setting

What is the best way/place to get a loose diamond put into a new setting? Son has the stone just needs the setting and has a pretty good idea what she prefers. Is buying this online realistic? Or is he better off locally? How about some of the larger chain type jewelry stores?

I'll be one of many to direct you to "freedbaby"
He is the THT Jeweller.

Personally I dislike the Jared's/Kay's etc etc places.

I go to my guy who I known forever, know his kids, wife etc etc. And I feel good about that- unlike the big box stores who don't care....

I was about to recommend my guy in Boston, but then saw that your not local. I just bought my third engagement ring last year and hopefully it will be my last.

Good luck to your son!

have your son look at the stone under 10X magnification in a scope, not a loupe. He can then identify the stone once he has viewed it. then I would suggest any independent jeweler that has been in business over ten years, he can develop a relationship that he can use again and again.

Haven't logged in in months, literally, check my post history. Maybe over a year.

Logged in to say talk to freedbaby. I have a local jeweler I know and trust, if ever there is a time he fails me, Jonathan gets my business.

Thanks all - I'll pass the suggestions on to the future groom.
