Default not a shotgun, not a pistol, not a SBR, what is it?

According to ATF, it's just a "firearm" and no tax stamp needed. Interesting concept.

And this requires an AOW Stamp

Looks gimmicky. I prefer to pay for the stamp or get a bullpup like the KSG or DP12.

I'm sure the feds are rewriting the laws as we speak. They probably weren't too concerned because not many citizens have the ability to build their own weapon.

Agreed except for the fact that ATF has done a piss poor job classifying the brace. Inventor took it to ATF. Approved as a brace. Sig takes the interpretation and puts it into production. In March 2014 ATF makes a ruling that specifically states that even if you shoulder it doesn't turn it into a SBR. Then January of 2015 ATF says "we are just kidding about our recent rulings" and it "could be" a SBR if your shoulder it. WTF?

I doubt this will be legal in most states as soon as the gun ninnies find out about it. They do seem to have tap danced through all of the loopholes in NFA34. I read a couple reviews about it and it is really not hampered much by the 8.5" barrel (except perhaps in lower velocities).
I already know barrel length really does not affect patterns as much as the urban legend would have us believe because I have patterened some very short barreled (illegal) shotguns in my youth.
The shortest was a "zip gun" that a cop friend confiscated that actually used 8" of 3/4" pipe for the barrel with no forcing cone at all. It still did not pattern much bigger than my 20" cylinder bore gun at 7 yards.

With an MSRP between $1200 and $1400 depending on features, I think it is a pretty expensive toy.
If you are a gun guy who wants one of everything, it is probably a must have for your collection tho. With a laser and a little practice I imagine you could get good with it

BATF can change a ruling at the drop of a hat any day and make thousands of people criminals at a stroke of a pen. Its a dangerous situation.

I am very pro gun but weapons that are tacticool only are overpriced in my opinion. Unless you are SWAT you are probably never going to use it to kill anyone. I have this gun: http://www.remington.com/shotguns/pu...edator-w/scope
Inside my house I think it could serve the same purpose plus it is fun to shoot in the woods where in reality that is where it will be used.. The ShurShot® pistol grip stock is very comfortable and secure. Plus less that half the price, plus no hassles from law.
