Default Cell phone screen protector

I'm in the process of getting a new cell phone (iphone 6s) and was researching screen protectors and did not realize there were now two types (glass & plastic) out there. I would appreciate some input as to what type you are using on your phone and a recommended brand if possible.

Thanks in advance for your help.

i have a 6s and use the cheaper plastic one from verizon.

didn't know there was glass... what's that cost?

I have zero issues with the cheap ones. just take a couple minutes and like anything else, do it right. they last a long while IMO. clean up nice with a little windex.

when it's time to change it out, just take a couple minutes and like anything else, do it right.

The tempered glass protectors are the way to go. Anyone can generally mount one with zero bubbles. They are much better than plastic.

Does one need/use screen protectors any more? I haven't used one in years. Heck, my phone comes with an unbreakable screen guarantee. No way it will scratch.

Look at the tempered glass protectors from Exofab. Very cool cases as well.

I haven't used a screen protector on my IPhones in 5 years or more. Didn't know they were still available.

Glass is probably nicer but you'll be happy with plastic too...check out spigen. One tip a buddy gave me was to turn the shower on for 5-10 minutes with the bathroom door closed, the steam will knock down all dust so you can put the screen on without worry of dust behind the screen protector.

I bought a zagg glass screen protector for my 6 plus and like it. You do lose a little sensitivity but it doesn't cause a problem. It's crystal clear and smooth unlike the vinyl ones. Hated those.

I have switched to tempered glass for our family phones. We have dropped them and even cracked the protector. Screen underneath was still perfect.

In fact, I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S5 last week face down on my paver patio. Cracked the protector. Bought a replacement on EBAY for less than $4.

I have the glass protector and it has worked well although awhile back I dropped it hard and it cracked the cover glass. Just kept it that way and everything has been fine. You have to look hard to see the cracks.

Tempered glass without a doubt. I have cracked 3 of them and zero damage to the phone screen. Once I had it in my pocket and it hit the metal corner of my trailer winch. Protector cracked phone was fine. I will never go back to the cheap plastic screen protectors. You can get them much cheaper on amazon.

I had a thicker plastic protector on my Galaxy and it messed up the auto dim feature on the screen so be mindful when picking. I would imagine glass would be better but I just took mine off altogether.

If you're a boater, look into the Lifeproof Fre case.

I am still a fan of the plastic for one reason. I can get it in matte finish and it does not show fingerprints and smudges much at all. I was not sure I would like the matte finish until I tried it. I just could not keep my screen clean until I switched to it.

I think I've tried them all. I got a new NEBO flashlight case for my iPhone 6. It has an open face and the only protector avail when I was at the store was a tempered glass one. Much better than a plastic one, by far

Otterbox Defender and they replace for free at anytime. They also have a glass protector for those interested. Best warranty out there.
