Me anyways. http://www.f1racing.net/en/news.php?newsID=109147

This would be kind of like having the Indy 500 cancelled. I actually had the thrill of driving a souped up VW Bora around this track in 1999 and all I can say is WOW! WHAT A TRACK!

I hope it does come back in '07.

Do you go to the USGP in Indy?

I'll be there this year.

Glad I didn't go last year!

I've been each of the last 4 or 5 years. Last year was another story altogether. The only good thing is my tickets are free this year.
A group of us go together and camp across the street from the track. Usually a great experience.

Glad to see they made it right for you. Michelin REALLY blew it for everyone last year. Are you a Ferrari fan? The V8's should be interesting this year, too.

What's the big deal? One race being cancelled is not all that much of a surprise, especially with a committee as screwed up as FIA has always been.

Think Long Beach, Watkins Glen, Detroit, didn't Phoenix host F1 at one point? Las Vegas?

Just1More: What were you doing in Belgium?

Watkins Glen is about the only respectable course among that list. It'd be cool to have it back there!

At the time, I was dating a publisher and one of her clients took us to Liege, Belgium for a science conference he was speaking at and to see the Solar eclipse. While we were there I saw a sign for Francorchamps and decided to go check it out. It is truly an amazing circuit with it's elevation changes and, of course, Eau Rouge! I must say though, I did have a bit of a scare though

I made a wrong turn (left) leaving the go kart track and was traveling the wrong way (and didn't realize it yet)on the non-public portion of the trackapproachingStavelot. I was about to mash down on the throttle and dive in to the apex when I saw 5 motorcycles heading towards me at a high rate of speed. I was like HOLY S... !!! Luckily they seemed to be experienced and did not panic, nor did I. Just stayed wide and slowed down. The last rider turned his head around and held up his arm in a "turn around fool!" kind of way. I saw them at the bar back at the go kart track and apologized sincerely. They said, "That happens more the one would think."

Good story.

I wasn't saying that the tracks were good ones, just places where F1 had been run, but aren't anymore.

I ran a NEXTEL car around ATL Motor Speedway last December and I will admit I am a lot more interested in NASCAR than I have ever been. I think driving an F1 car would cause me to divorce my wife, quit my job and move to Europe.
