Default Older Federal Reserve Notes and Silver Certificates?

Anyone know anything about values of older U.S. paper money?

I have a $1 1957 Silver Certificate, and a $10 Federal Reserve Note, marked Series of 1934 A.

Was wondering if these might be worth anything other than face value.

Thanks.

I'm have basically the same. But I have 10 $1.00 silver certs. which is a set my mother got for me. Which are dated 1954 the only thing that changes on the bills is the last number. They run from 0 to 10. They are all brand new bill which never been taken out of the foil she wrapped them in except for once by me. Be interesting to what they are worth.

You guys need to contact a numismatic shop (coin dealer.) A phone call and a description should get you an answer pretty quickly. Perhaps your local library would have a catalog listing current prices as well.

Given that none of the items are particularly old, nor rare (though the series has the best chance, I'd think), I don't think they're going to be extremely valuable (but I'm not a collector, either, so I could be way wrong. Hope I am.)

Thanks for the replies.

I stopped in a coin place near my office today. The gent in the place said the ones I have are pretty common and are basically worth face value.
