2007 BMW 550I. It needs valve stem seals and leaks oil all over my driveway but I drive it more than my 16 F150 Larot. Just keep my eye on the oil and try not to let it idle too long at the drive through without turning it off. There is something about having a total beater thats fun to drive that I like. I told myself after buying this car no more $50K vehicles. $20-30K at most. I have had it for a year and have put about 7K miles on it. The altornator went out on it right after I bought it but she starts every time after replacing it.

I used to be a BMW guy, but this one is Exhibit A for moving on to the Porsche camp:

Lets see what you have tucked away in your garage!

Here is mine. Nothing crazy like some of you.... 99 Boxster - Manual - with low miles. Super fun Mid Engine P-Car that handles great.

It is not. It is very tastefully modded with a 3.4 stroked, built vvti head by headgames stuffed with ferrea valve train, CCW wheels, SRT big brake kit, 6 speed car that I have in the works. It will be a very desirable when complete.

hpfp fixed limp mode
yes e93. E46 M cars (which are a blast) come 333hp
e93 comes w 300hp 0-60 4.9

i am around 450-460hp w reg fuel. Plan to take to strip this spring. But I donít have rear tire set up yet that would allow me to hook up. Itís stupid fast.

I have an 2005 e46 M3 ZCP with 25k miles, but now my Z4 2.5i (my first BMW) suffers by comparison (tho I love the color, rare Merlot rot). Dreaming of a future upgrade. I thought the e93M came with 400+ HP, am I missing something?

E93 just means convertible

Mine is an optioned m sport . Not M . So mine has all the convenience features, re!it's stuff, cold weather package, higher
 top.speed, lowered stance, firmer coils

The M,s of the E series were v_8 with yes 400 hp or so . Mine is well above that level .

I passed the torch to my son today. He got his license last month and it was time to teach him to drive a manual transmission. Pics of car are in this thread somewhere. Itís a Ď68 Austin Healey Sprite.

Gotcha. You built your M+. Thanks Would be fun to take a spin in that. A local BMW buddy had a e36 with something like 500hp. He literally could not keep the rear tires underneath him. Crazy stupid fast. I'll just take really fast, thank you. I gotta get used to going 140mph down the back straightway at MidOhio first

That is unbelievably stunning. I always dream of getting a Porsche, but I'm scared to death of the repair bills. BMWs are bad enough...and I have a very reasonable former BMW racer mechanic. I would think my repair bills would double. Might I ask, ballpark, what you sold this for....and the particulars of the car?

I owned this car in 2002-2004 before I sold it. It was the last year for the Trans-Am. Not mine pictured but it was the same exact car with ebony interior and hurst 6 sp. Reached 80mph in second gear, just before redline. I smoked many a mustang GT in that car.

VERY NICE! What are those "302's" - 444 or so horsies out of the box? I'm not a fan of ALL BLACK wheels but THOSE are NICE with the brushed edges! What YEAR? There are a few "Bullits" for sale around here but they usually go QUICK - $53K-$54K MSRP - NO DISCOUNTS! I'll know who it is if I see it on the OBX roads this summer.

Regards,

That Porsche cost me next to nothing in repairs, it takes some research to find the good wrenches, I'm fortunate here in SE FL. That car was 100% trouble free except for what I broke. It did develop a oil leak, switched from synthetic to dino oil, and it stopped. In contrast, my only BMW was long ago, a new 528e in 85. Was on the road, doing 40k a year plus. It did hold up well, and it should have. Following the maintenance prescription on it was very expensive, far more than anything I'd had before it. Switched to Cadillac and never looked back, far more comfortable, economical, and just as reliable.
