Default Is Cabela's circling the toilet bowl?

I know it's the holiday season and all, but I've been on hold waiting to speak with a representative for 45 minutes now. I seem to remember always getting to speak to a CS rep immediately, even on cyber monday in years past. Anybody else notice their CS sucking these days?

Nope, their service has been excellent. It must be my sparkling personality and holiday good spirits.

Your expectations are a bit high if you expect to talk to any retailer without waiting a week before Christmas. Avoid the peak call periods. I usually call just before I go to bed and almost always have a short wait time (if at all).

I agree with this, but in the past it's been exceptional customer service that sets Cabela's apart from the rest. Looks like they've joined the masses.

If you ask me they circled a long time ago. Sounds like they just got flushed.

How bout that, Jimm just said the same thing.
That's the rumor. With their sales and coupons I'm wanting to buy two of their AGM batteries now but am hesitant they might not be around if I have issues. S'pose BPS might assume that stuff though.

They've always sucked. From in store returns even to chking out. What little help is always standing around bsing with each other till you need help then it's not their area and take off. They have always been way over priced. We have one right next door to work and the only time I go is when I get a stack of gift cards.

They had a sale on M&P 15 packages...rifle, hard case, & loader for $598-limited quantities available. I was at the store 5 minutes after they opened on the day the sale began and they were sold out. The sales associate wouldn't tell me how many they had...I am guessing one or two at most.

Yeah, i definitely don't shop cabelas or bass pro unless its holiday deals with free shipping. Love my local fishing/hunting shops.

Don't think there is much to the Bass Pro rumor. It was all speculation based on one floor level employee claiming such. Every single report on it all circles back to that local news story that interviewed said employee.

I was at the local Cabela's store yesterday. They had the M&P 15 on sale for $549. There were ar least 60 people in line and they sure seemed to have enough of them to go round. I remember when my buddy decided a few years ago after one of post tragedy waves of hysteria and talk of banning them was fairly serious, ran out to academy to buy one of the last few available in the city and paid almost $900 for it. He is still kicking himself.

Agreed, but that doesn't mean they are circling the toilet bowl, just slipped back to average performance.

They had 8 of the rifles alone left...the sales associate offered me one at the sale price of the package. Seeing your reply makes me happy I passed on his offer.
I sent a message to their customer service about my experience. I'll post their reply when(and if)I get one.

Always found cabelas cs to be exceptional. They have gone above and beyond on more than one occasion. They're like the nra though when it comes to mailings. Anytime I make a big purchase from them I get all sorts of crap in the mail everyday for months.

I hope Cabelas isn't in trouble

Bass pro just opened in CT, in Bridgeport. Smack dab in the middle of the shittiest slum. What a dump of a city.

I looked at bps cold weather gear while there last weekend. Bps cold weather camo is 2 steps below Cabelas cold weather gear. Prices on other things in the store seemed high when compared to Cabelas also.
