Default Springfield xds or Glock 43

Ok, looking for opinions. Not interested in the shield as I didn't like the mag release. Ruger felt a little too small. So which of these 2 single stacks would you go with as your ccw?

Both good guns, I'd go for higher magazine capacity.

Glock imo....might not look as cool but Id trust it more with my life than the XDS. With that said......I will be buying the performance center shield as my CCW.

Xds fits it nicely. Haven't found a glock 43 yet to try out. I have a xd which is the best pistol I've ever owned. As far as which one of these has the higher capacity? Xds by 1 round if you're talking xds 9mm

Many of my prior Co workers really like the little 43. I have not shot it yet. I have shot the XDS before and it fine, although I have shot other Springfield XD products and did not care for it.

Shot 1K rounds through both.

Springfield.

The glock is awkward. It shoots poorly. It gained internet fame because the company says the right things and they don't break. Both good reasons for respect.

But they shoot poorly for good shooters. Great shooters can adjust, of course. But it's a sideways gun.

Springfield 10 years ago, I'd say Glock. But now the reliability is there with Springfield, and it has always shot better.

Glock 43 shoots great, easy to clean and no issues.

Safeties are for liberals. Glock all the way. Put around 100 rounds thru my nephews xds the other night. Good weapon, but prefer the glock. Didn't like the sights on the xds.

The safety is built in. Thought everyone knew that. Even safe enough for cops to carry daily.

Stay away from the XDS, it has been recalled.

I've been looking also. I have an XD 40 that I like. The Glock 43 only has a trigger safety.
I tried a Walther CCP with an external safety. It fits my hand better and I like the safety on it.
Walther for me.

Ended up with a Walther PPS in 9mm, couldn't pass up the deal I found.

I am not an expert on guns, but have shot a couple. I look at it more from an overall function, safety, and use.
In my opinion the xds, xd setups work for what I want a gun I can grab, has 2 safeties, won't go off if dropped, or if someone was to grab it by putting their finger in the trigger area. I don't shoot alot, and wanted something I didn't have to remember to take the safety off.

I have not had any issues shooting the xd and am planning on buying another style for carry.

I carry the 43, my brother carriers the xds. Both are nice guns but I am partial to mine but it is a little small in my hand. I plan to add the magazine finger extension soon and that should solve my problem. Mine feels a little lighter in my pocket than his. It always seems there are more accessories for glocks. He wanted a small trigger laser and still hasn't found one that fit. Every one he bought fit mine easily.

FWIW I have gone shooting with my brother and an additional friend on two occasions, both shot both of our guns, both bought a g43 on the way out of the store. I don't think you can go wrong with either but if the prices are right and both feel good, g43 it is.

I don't want to say this is better or that is better however the glock has 3 safeties, including drop.

I'm sure your "someone grabs it by the trigger area" comment was a harmless comment but this is never a concern to me. If someone is grabbing for my gun I'm going to want it to go off (in their direction). If it is someone I am showing the gun to, or it is not on my person, it is not loaded.

My 1911 has the same style of beavertail safety and I don't have any problems with it but IMO less is more for a CCW.

My brother is a big XD fan and went to buy the XDS but he tried the 43 and liked the feel of it better FWIW.
