I like it, Netflix blows but Amazon has a good selection of movies.

Will join the YES!

At this point amazon is our main retail store. If we need something from Home Depot, Walmart, etc. we just order online. I've even had USPS deliver on fed holidays because of Prime.

We also have Netflix and think it's much much better that Prime Video but every now and then we use it. They also offer some music but we haven't looked into it yet.

Like with everything else, it's well worth it if you use it.

A tip... When you place an order for an item and you don't need to get it in 2 days then choose the shipping choice where you get $1-2 back to use on video or music. In a year I get probably a dozen free movie rentals this way. Seems like the order gets here fast anyway too.

I still feel Prime is well worth the fee though. We've even given up our Sams Club membership instead ordering bulk groceries, etc off Prime for similar prices and with free shipping.
THIS^^^

Amazon has got to be loosing money on all the free chit my wife seems to get from them.

I've read that their business model has been to lose money for some time now. I think they are now profitable but only because of thier cloud storage business.

Just last week we were looking for a new foodsaver. $138 at Walmart. $119 at Amazon delivered to my door.

The best thing about amazon is the thousands of reviews on every item you can imagine. These are usually very detailed reviews with pictures of product or demonstrations. Very helpful for buying clothes or eletronics

Yeah. But sometimes it's frustrating because some love a product and others absolutely hate it Also, some get free products in exchange for their review so......

I order probably 20 items off prime a month and have not had a single issue with their service. One time the mail man dropped my box across the street but that is another issue.

I have had packages take longer to process but then they just overnight it and it still gets there in 2 days. I am very happy with the service but have only used the streaming service once. It worked fine but I don't watch a whole lot of TV that isn't live sports.

Lately (last 2 weeks), I've been having issues with 2 day shipping taking up to a week. I think the holiday business is getting them in trouble.
My wife went crazy on cyber monday I must have had 15 boxes show up this week. They have been using everyone under the sun to deliver. I have seen UPS, FedEx, USPS, some special courier and even an Amazon branded Sprinter van pulled up yesterday.

You would be crazy not to be a member of prime, great free music, free amazon produced shows for the kids, and the the purchasing is a no brainier.

I ordered a pool pump on Saturday at 1:00 pm and it was on my porch monday morning at 10:00 am.

Also the reviews before making a purchase can save you.

If you are going to become a member get the amazon fire setup the streaming is awesome.

My wife loves it, she buys everything on line. If I need something I just send her a link and she orders it for me. We use it for movies also which is kind of a bonus.

Don't join Amazon prime for the movies the amount of things you actually want to watch is not that long in Prime. I would say if you look at the total package you get for Prime and value the movie part at about $4-5 a month then the free shipping for me it's a great deal.

In 2015 if you are actually getting in your car to go shopping for stuff your an idiot. The only stores I go to frequently are Costco, local Grocery store and HD / Lowes on a need to go basis Walmart or local Hardware store when I need something same day.

Frequently I order $1 bolts, $2 copper fittings and other small stuff on Amazon on Tuesday or Wednesday so I can have everything I need for my Saturday or Sunday projects the days of getting in the car to get stuff is over.

I ordered something on Tuesday, it's not going to arrive until tomorrow due to the UPS not being able to handle the volume, so no fault of Amazon. I called them and said I really need it in the promised 2 days or I don't need it at all. They offered to pay return shipping and refund or give me a $20 credit on my account. I'd say that's pretty solid CS.

Don't use it for movies but they have a huge warehouse on the other side of Tampa Bay and I can order stuff in the afternoon and get it the next day. If they're like every other retailer their busiest month is December and it would be very difficult to be set up to have that increase in volume go as smoothly as other months.

I cant speak to the Movies aspect but for me Amazon Prime is the best thing ever. I order 90% of stuff I buy online from Amazon. They always ship ASAP and will have your stuff delivered within 2 days. Plus returns are so easy

I have prime, use it often and like it. Not too long ago I ordered a battery box. A small one that can be tough to find locally. Fits the size battery my ride on lawn mower uses. I use them in my jon boat for engine starting...
The box was about $10, in stock and prime eligible.
A couple of days go by, item never arrived. Check account and it hasn't been shipped, prime 2 day was selected at check out. I didn't inquire as I had found one in my shop. A few more days go by and the battery box arrives UPS blue label overnight.
I looked at the amazon prime terms loosely and it looked like (I may have misinterpreted it) there was some verbiage indicating all prime 2 day orders would be delivered within 2 days of shipping. However, it did not appear they promised same day shipping or even next day shipping. I didn't look any further into it.

Prime is great - the free 2 day shipping has made me very lazy though. Why stop by the store to pick up something when I can have it delivered in 2 days to my door and it's usually cheaper?

The movies are just ok...tv show selection is great. I cancelled Netflix and may even cancel cable at some point.

It might not be worth it to me if I have to pay for movies. That is the main reason I'm considering it, 4 to 6 dollars a movie is the same as pay per view on cable that I already have. Are all movies free on Netflix after the monthly charge?

I don't see how prime is worth it, I just looked up the dog food I buy at Kroger for $12.99 and it's $25.00 on Amazon. Are you guys actually saving money or is it just the convenience?

You have to shop everything, Amazon is not always the cheapest.
