A mother was found guilty of murder for placing her infant daughter in a microwave for at least five minutes.

Ka Yang was found guilty of first-degree murder and assault of a child causing great bodily injury leading to death, the Sacramento Bee reports. Yang now faces 26 years to life in prison.

According to prosecutors, the child, 2-month-old Mirabelle Thao-Lo, was found in the microwave in March 2011 with burns “covering 60 percent of her body, including radiation burns that penetrated her internal organs.” Yang told police that she was holding her daughter when she lost consciousness and woke up next to the space heater with her daughter inside, according to the Bee.

Yang said that she had a seizure, but jurors felt otherwise and prosecutors said Yang lied to investigators, the Bee reports. Family spokesman, Lao Paochoua Thao, added that Yang “didn’t know what she was doing.”
Just one shot in the temple for all the whack jobs that are so far out there and the gene pool might just have a chance to recover.

Ya'll read about the Indiana pastors wife that got shot during a home invasion. Was pregnant as well. Just doesn't make sense to me... I get robbing someone; but shooting?
