Default I bid on these on eBay in error, should I try to cancel my bid?

I was trying to find out what the max bid was on this ad for 2 jet ski's and I ended up bidding and now I have the top bid. I've been hoping someone will outbid me but that hasn't happened yet and now I want to cancel my bid. I know cancelling a bid through eBay is complicated and I have never done it.

My question based on the ad would you guys follow through and cancel your eBay bid because I bid in error? Or would you just keep the bid and buy the jet ski's? The ski's look like they are in very good condition so I would likely keep one and sell the other one if I do win the bid.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-1995-Wet-J...-/361426200101

I don't know much about jet ski's and how they hold their value but from my limited knowledge buying a pair for $510 sounds like a great deal.

Would you cancel your eBay bid or just buy the pair of ski's for $510?

Looking at the bidding history I seriously doubt that you'll be the winning bid.

And for only $500 just let it roll and see what happens.

I hope you read the part about tacking an additional $299 for handling to the purchase price. Maybe you'll get outbid.

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE AD CAREFULLY

AN ADDITIONAL $299.00 (document handling fee) is added to the final bid price.

Doh!

There are 3 reasons for canceling a bid, 1 of them is if you entered the wrong price. (I'd say this qualifies as the wrong price) another reason is if you cannot contact the seller by phone or e-mail.

We just cancled a bid on ice skates last night.

Donor stated*, that the one jet ski was running when last used in 2014, one jet ski does not run/function, both jet skis winterized

Almost 2 days left on the listing. I wouldn't worry until the last couple hours. I never show my hand on a bid until the last minutes. BUT, I think $800 with the bid and fees if at the top of their value. Hope P.T. Barnum saying proves right for you.

I would rather share a needle with Charlie Sheen before buying those two things.

I know about the adder cost.

I was watching the Steeler's game and wasn't paying much attention to what I was doing, I didn't mean to bid even the $510 let alone the additional $299.

Ebay motors bids are non binding. I found this out when I listed a car a few years ago. The winning bid is just the new asking price and further negotiation always followed.

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/...nding-bid.html

"Policy overview

A non-binding bid is a bid that shows a buyer's interest in purchasing an item, but it doesn't create a formal contract between the buyer and the seller.

All bids made in the Real Estate and eBay Motors vehicles categories are considered non-binding.

Remember, bids placed in any other category are a legal commitment to purchase the item. We strongly encourage you to read the other terms for more information.

So, when we going jet skiing, Russ?

Gotta wear a wet suit for sure where you are now. Major shrinkage!

Tell me how you really feel....

It's hard to tell from pictures but they sure look like they are in good condition.

I hope you guys are right about someone bidding higher before the auction expires, I think I will let it ride for another day.

I would imagine that with over a day left someone involved in teh 13 bids would be willing to spend $5 more.

I wouldn't ride that out, I'd try to cancel asap. I don't think anybody is going to bid more for that junk.

P'bably not. They were all drunk and watching the Steelers game.

Looks like they were donated and this outfit is just selling them.
