Default A Member Needs Our Help!

A member needs our help. Capt. Hugh (Buck) has started some very popular threads here and has met many of you. He and I have become friends after meeting through THT. Here are some the threads he has started and participated on:

http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-...boat-ever.html

http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-...ight-club.html

http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-...-out-shop.html

And here he is explaining the situation he is faced with:

I know many of you follow the " Ugliest Boat Ever" thread, but for those of you that don't, I have something to share with you.

2 months ago, my wife of nearly 26 years found out she has colon cancer.

We have insurance, but we all know that comes nowhere near covering all the expenses of treatment, and since her treatment has begun, she has not been able to work.

I am keeping our household bills above water, barely, but the medical bills not covered by Blue Cross are beginning to pile up.

The folks I work with at Olympus set up a Go Fund Me page to benefit my wife, and it was launched 2 days ago.

It is difficult for me to ask for help like this, I am a proud man, and I am use to taking care of my family, like a man does, but this time, it is way bigger than me.

On this forum, we fuss, bitch, and call each other names at times. But, there is no meanness in it, { except for Tarbaby and Scratch} hehehehehehee.

I would not ask this for myself, but for my wife is another story.

Here is the link.

I thank you in advance for anything you can do to help me help her.

Thanks for posting this 7, I will be visiting the link in fairly short order and best wishes for a complete recovery to Hugh's better half.

Best,

Default Thank you

Steve,
I want to thank you for posting this.

In the past couple of days, we have received several very generous donations from people who's name I do not know, all addressing me as Captain or Capt. Hugh, and I know they came from people on " The Hull Truth".

I know I am far from the first husband that has faced this, but it is humbling even when you have done everything that you as suppose to, having insurance and such, that the things that are not covered are much more than you can handle.

In the last 3 days, since the Go Fund Me page went live, I have had the first hope I have had in several months.

I no longer feel that I am alone in this fight with my wife against this illness, I feel as if I have an army standing behind me, ready to pick me up when I fall, brush me off, and point me back in the right direction.

To all of you, I am grateful for your kindness, your friendship, and the support that you have offered my wife and I in our time of need.

We are far from done with this, but I feel as if a great weight has been lifted from me and that we will, with God's help, be able to weather this.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,

Hugh Wilde

I have made a small donation. It seems insignificant however I am sure anything will help.

We will pray for her recovery and for you to have the strength to help her through this difficult time.

Please keep us all up to date on her progress.

I can assure you Rick that nothing is insignificant. The thought is as powerful as the action.

Thank you.

Default Again, My thanks

Today, there were several donations to my wife's Go Fund Me account from people on THT, and I want to thank all of you for the help you are giving us.

I have no idea how this will end, but having the support and good wishes of so many people makes this walk thru Hell easier.

Thank you all,

Hugh

Good luck to you both.

If you ever want to talk to someone who's been down that road hit me up.

I had (have) a different type of cancer but got the "full experience" out of it.

100% beatable
