Default Jake Brewer, White House Staffer died

Some may have heard the reports about his death.
Not much detail reported about how it happened so I quickly searched it.

What looks to be a nice, giving, family man at a bicycle event to help others when he drifted into an oncoming vehicle.

Sad.

Although I have faith in something bigger than us, it makes me think about the thread, "Signs from a higher power".

Worst thing is that his wife is pregnant with their second child. She is Mary Katherine Hamm of Fox News

That is why every Fox reporter has mentioned it.
They are all besides themselves about it.
There are no words.

I didn't know much about him, but his wife is a class act. I wish her the children all the best.

Ugggghhhhh....I'm sure I'm gonna get called a Cheap F#@! again by certain members, but here it goes anyway.....

Did this guy's family really need a GoFundMe page? Did he not have life insurance? If not, shame on him. He was a White House staffer and she is on TV, something tells me this family doesn't need hand outs from strangers to get by from now on.

How many kids lost a parent on the exact same day that will not have GoFundMe pages started for them because their parents aren't pseudo famous?

Yes, it is sad when a child loses a parent. It would be nice to see this family say all of that money will be donated to charity.

Sad. She will have to struggle. She's a nice girl. My heart goes out to her.

Lively lines, would ya rather give money to dirtbag parents or to an accomplished woman that will raise her kids to do the right thing? Just saying'. Make it easy on her given her loss. Sad, very sad.

I be willing to bet a Benjamin that she didn't even set up the account.

Guy Benson, a cowriter of hers set it up. It says for education of the children and These funds may also be used to advance ideas about which Jake was passionate.
Whatever that may mean.
I'm sure he's a good friend, trying to help.
The internets are buzzing about whether they NEED the money. Don't think that's the point. But people like to talk, especially when politics is involved.

He was 34. Plenty of people that age have not properly set up themselves for the worst. I would bet that the majority of those with life insurance don't really have enough. However, I would guess that his wife was the serious bread winner. Either way, people can donate to any cause they want. It is irrelevant to me if it is truly needed unless it was some sort of scam or suppression of the truth.

I never even thought of buying life insurance. How many of you with ample assets think life insurance is useless? I never once considered it, for I figured the all the buzzards would all be pickin at the corpse when I croak.

For what its worth, an acquaintance passed from cancer last month, and a go fund me page was created for the same purpose. No fame, No big time just an amazing dude whose family is in hell right now. His kids now have about the same amount of money in the fund for school.

How can you seriously have an issue with people freely giving money to such a cause? Are you ready to have us decide what assets yo should keep and what you should give to charity?

Not at all clear how anyone could balk at people supporting their dead friends children

to each his own

I think you are supposed to put where memorials should be sent in the obituary in the newspaper.
