That's a good point, but I was thinking winter when all the critters are moving slow. Came across a canebrake rattler 3 weekends ago when looking for some mushrooms.

seems like a good buy relative to the pricing of some of their other guns.

I happen to have an Air-Soft expert on hold as I type this, so answer these questions and he can recommend several choices:

1. Price range
2. Type......( m4/m16/ak47....etc)
3. Power supply...Air, Gas, Electric
4. General usage...field, sniper, CQB
5. Outdoor use or indoor use or both
6. Full metal or Polymer.

Don't shoot the messenger.

1) +/-$100 range
2) rifle or assault style
3) no idea, gas I suppose?
4) plinking, shooting friends, no idea, know nothing about these guns, it's for a 12 yr old
5) outdoor use, maybe some limited indoor target practice
6) no idea, polymer I suppose???

see link to gun above.

You can build a badass one pretty cheap.

But, it will put an eye out and buy lots of bb's.

What's the consens on gas vs battery?

Seems like the blow back with gas is cool and more realistic

The Umarex Elite Force Next Gen M4 CQB Airsoft Rifle looks pretty cool. My 13 yo son just got into this stuff and now wants his own. We need some experts to point us "un-informed fathers" in the right direction.

my son has that exact rifle - it is good quality and fun. only problem with it is the charger (non-smart) that comes with it is crap. I bought him a better battery and a smart charger and the gun is much better. good brand - metal internal parts; rails for accessories; full auto capable.

My buddy who plays air-soft professionally told me he will send me a list when he gets off work. He's also a firefighter and he's off shift tomorrow night, he said their crazy busy. I will post up those names when he gets them to me.

It's not too late for an AR-7, Christmas is just around the corner.

He just texted these over to me, guess he made time. He told me that these are both outstanding rifles that will last for years, have excellent firepower, can have lots of toys added to them and will continue to perform well even if abused!

G&G Airsoft Combat Machine M4 Raider High-Performance Full Metal Gearbox AEG Rifle w/ Integrated RAS and Crane Stock

Just got another text, apparently JG has gone out of business but the rifles can still be found online and parts are easy to get. He told me to tell you to not dismiss that just because their out of business because he said for the price it is one of THE best rifles made.

He also said G&G Armament makes one hell of a great rifle.

just received these Air-soft web-sites. My buddy said these are two very good places to purchase from.

1. airsoftmegastore.com
2. airsoftgi.com

He also said that he has several vests not being used, if your son needs one, just pm me and I can ship it out to you no charge early next week if you want.

Too many choices to decide. I am concerned about spending good money for junk. My son is hard on stuff.

Lots of good info. Thanks spraynet and thank you for the offer! Will def let you know.

I think part of my problem is I am approaching this like am buying gun.

I am also still trying to get over the idea of a million BB's laying around the yard and house.

I also keep coming back to that Redwolf gas airsoft for some reason.
