Default I HATE Thieves

Posted this over on the Maverick boat forum but I thought I would share with you..

Just realized someone got into my garage and stole some of my expensive fishing combos. Was clearly a fisherman because they only took the high dollar spinning combos.
There is nothing like the feeling of having something stolen.. I hate the fact that they stole my rods but I am even more mad about someone invading my privacy and my home.

Just a reminder to keep everything locked up and garage door down no matter where you live because thats the world we all live in now..

I am hoping those rods have some serious bad mojo on them now..

It is disheartening, I had a motorcycle that I paid cash for stolen, and since I had no insurance on it was a total loss.

I feel your pain, but at least you still have your boat, and cheaper rods and reels so you can still fish.

Thanks for the advice but it happens everywhere. Family member had some high dollar things taken from their garage in a gated community recently, next door neighbors to them are household name celebrities. Just proves that even the most expensive neighborhood is still on planet earth-which is home to a lot of bottom feeders..

Even had things stolen up north when I lived in a small town on the water where everyone knew everyone with pretty much zero crime.

At the end of the day material objects and rods can be replaced but I don't like the feeling that someone invaded my privacy/property.

You give California a bad name. I'm on a few other fishing websites that you're a member also and it's always the same negative bullshit, never anything positive. Has Bloody Decks booted your ass yet? Even Baja Nomads has told you to STFU which is almost unheard of. Give it a rest.

Sorry you got robbed of your gear OP, bad juju for sure.

It would be a good idea to check the pawn shops in your area! Ask them if they took them in, don't just look around for them.

What part of St. Pete? My pickup was stolen a few months ago from my son's driveway in Pinellas Point.

There's some fishing/marine related FB sale groups you might want to watch too.

I've been burglarized a couple times in different areas. Cars, houses, job sites, etc. I can't stand it either.

Sadly, it seems it is a lot of times it is someone you know or someone you know who said something to a friend.

Cameras are your friend. The $120 per camera is totally worth it when you can turn over the picture.

You forgot:

Drink his liquor, shoot his dog, and sink his boat.

Bert, !!!

Thank you for the correction. You are correct, as usual.

Can we shave the thief's cats instead?

She may be the reason he has to steal to fish.

Have you considered that it might be someone who had approved, previous access to your garage?

Chances are a random thief would just not know which ones to steal. I will guess the reason he knew which ones to steal is cuz he already knew you had the high dollar ones in the garage.

For example, a former fishing buddy who is hooked on drugs and lost his job. Friends of your kids. A plumber/electrician/painter who worked on your house with a Salt Life sticker on his truck. (Those are the MOST suspicious!)

I have 1 neighbor who I am going to be keeping a very, very close eye on. Also i had a garage door repairman that came to the house a few weeks ago..didnt like the vibe he was putting off.. First thing he asked me was how much my sports car cost.

Other than that no suspicions. I have already decided to use a different garage door company immediately after my last appointment so lesson learned there.

The more I think about it I am pretty sure I will see it show up somehow from my neighbor and his friends, he is probably 30..lives at home, no job and seems to only wear boxers with no shirt around his property while he smokes and stares at me when I work on my cars and boat.

Just have to think about how to approach it with him because he has quite a quick temper..
