Default The back seat ride?

Why is the ride in the back seat of a car so much worse then in the front seat?

I understand that they gear the ride towards the driver and front seat passenger as they are most likely to be the adults in the car (especially these days), but my god, the ride in the back seat is so much worse I can't explain to myself why.

It doesn't seem to matter much if it's a 10K car or one that costs 45K the ride compared with the front seat is far worse.

Thoughts?

I thought this was going to be on something else.
Are you sitting on a guys, um, lap?
Not that there is anything wrong with that.

The ride in the backseat of my F-150 crew was horrible and so is the back seats of my super duty crew. Horrible. Front seats, no issues. Back seats remind me of a Whaler ride in the chop with no seat cushion.
Luckily not many folks ride in the back.

And most likely the ones buying the car but it does seem as if seating all around is getting less comfortable " less padding " then it did years ago. The other possibility is that my back is just getting worse and everything seems more uncomfortable then it use to be.

I think the back seats of my Fusion, Highlander and Tundra, are all very comfortable. Maybe it's just the vehicle that you are riding in?

If it's a big issue, pick ya up a Bentley, Maybach, 550, 7 series Li, or Rolls.

Not too big an issue as I ride in front 99% of the time or more. But recently we took my MIL to the doctors and it was just best if she rode in front. We were in my wife's MB C300 and while the ride wasn't bad it was harsh compared with the front seat. My Toyota as I remember is not good at all unless your on a highway and it's smooth.

I never sat in the back of my 5 series. But have hewrd its decent. But I have sat in the back of my wife's 3 series.
It blows back there.
Also depends what size the car is. A focus will be crappier then a 7 series w the long wheelbase (iL)
