5 gallon gas can

Does anyone make a 5 gallon gas can that does not have all the push and click to pouring. Use to buy Eagle can

Many prior threads.
I can make a new one flow like an old one with a drill, razor knife and vent cap from ebay in minutes. The only thing that remains is the flow valve in the spout but it's easy to disable the safety feature. Razor knife cuts all the little nubs off and the tabs you press to get past them, drill makes 1/2in hole for vent and a rubber mallet knocks the vent in place.
I don't think anyone can meet federal regs and make them (portable cans) any easier to use.

Look up the motocross websites and drag racing site for fuel cans. I have 6 VP racing fuel cans that are super.

I purchased one of those new POS gas containers a few weeks ago. I COULD NOT GET THAT POS TO POUR GAS. But I fixed that with my cordless drill.

This POS is the result of Big Brothers who have their heads stuck ....you all know where..... in their insane attempt to regulate EVERYTHING!

Yes , checked Hot Rod cans. Order 4

x2 - very easy to refuel the boat. Crazy fast. I found them for $20 last Christmas.

I use a big funnel from Rural King and I have ditched all of the spouts.

Screw trying to pour gas out of a 5g can. Use a self priming shaker syphon. They are cheap, nearly fool proof and completely eliminate the sloshing, lifting, etc. You don't need a funnel or need to do surgery to the pour spout.

I have been buying Scepter military fuel cans on eBay. You can empty an entire can in about 90 seconds into a car.

Ditto we have the VP cans for all of the offroad stuff. I guess the government assumes we're smarter or more likely didn't realize offroaders and racers use fuel.

I used to recycle the spouts but the bat rastards caught on to that trick and changed the threads. Can still recycle the vents.

X2 on this. Jiggler beats pouring out of the can and works fast. This is the way that most ski boat guys fill boats on the lake.

gfretwell 09-12-2015 08:27 AM

A siphon hose works but it is pretty slow.

Not if you get a large diameter one, we empty a 5 gallon in about 5 minutes.
