My neighbor promotes software for bars/restaurants nation-wide. Will touch base with him for info and his contacts. I forget the name of the product he sells but I think it does what you are looking for including analyzing inventory, tracking loss and profit leaders etc.

I am reasonably sure that National Cash Register Company sells a number of packages for restaurants and bars. I am sure they have some stuff already developed and setting on their shelf............

How big of a place? There are a couple pretty good iPad app versions. Do you need s kitchen printer or two or just a swipe terminal?

MICROS. Its the industry standard and should be able to do any / all things you would ever need.

Don't make the mistake I did. Go with a proven, supported and well known product. Micros is the standard, don't know if Aloha is still around.

If your POS is also the machine/software running credit cards you want to absolutely make sure the thing works and when it doesn't they can support it 24/7/365.

I didn't care what it cost to get working when we couldn't process cards, but it was very, very hard to get support at 7pm on a Friday night.

Get quotes from multiple and evaluate the service after sale.
