All of the mentioned comedians were and are great with the exception of ADC and Seinfeld (I loved his show but never really cared for his stand up)IMHO.

Robin Williams was pure genius, what he could do off the top of his head was off the wall.
Jonathan Winters was also great.

Saw Jim Gaffigan a couple times.

Funny comedian, but his tv show makes me want to beat him with an axe handle.

Yeah, diabetes too. Met him in 1992 when he did 2 weeks at Catch A Rising Star at the Hyatt Regency Princeton. I was restaurant manager at the time and shared office with the ticket box office. Good guy, we kept in touch over the years. Off stage he is very quiet and generous.

What about Chelsea Handler, Lisa Lampanelli, Amy Schumer just to add some mix to the lists.
And lets not forget Bill Cosby, he had some great standup acts. (yes, I know, he isn't politically correct now) but he was funny.

I actually went to my first stand up show this past weekend. We saw Carlos Mencia. I thought he was hysterical and very intelligent. He really tailored his show to the audience. I have not really paid attention to stand up in the past but I laughed non stop his entire set. I absolutely will have to start going to more shows.

Not saying he was the greatest, but I did think he was funny when I was a kid, but anyway, anyone remember Pat Paulson?

He did the best ever super bowl commercial imo. The comb over beard.
