Yeah, we had one come up to us while off the Pinellas 2 reef off Clearwater a few years back.

We were in a 27' WorldCat and that creature was at least 10' longer than the boat.

Some one said "there's more to fishing than catching fish" no truer words have been spoken

We saw 7-foot stingray on the surface last trip, only about 20 feet from the boat.
Trip before - a 4-foot sea turtle surfaced and hung with us for a few minutes.

Plus pods of bottle nose dolphins and hundreds of flying fish.
Three of those guests had never been offshore before.

It is a pretty rare offshore canyon/tuna trip that you don't see a pretty good collection of Whales and Dolphins/Porpoises. Nothing like good nature watching with a side of Tuna.

Couldn't have said it better. There's just something about it that gets in you. Hard to explain to people who don't like the water.
