Default New sick pay rules

Anyone know if this affects people with general PTO?

I don't want to convert my pto to sick days.

Since the executive order mandating them to take effect in 2017, after Obama leaves office, haven't been made public, there is no way to know.
I assume it will be similar to the NYC rule that took effect in 2014.
If so, it will allow general PTO, so long as the PTO provides at least as many days off, accruing at least as quickly as the order - so 1 hour of time off for every 30 hours worked - since the NYC rule allows sick time to be used in 2 hour increments, it required most companies to re-write their accrual and leave policies for NYC employees even if the number of days wasn't a concern.

Nothing is free! This is just more government intrusion into the small business workplace. Fortunately I don't do any business with the federal government so it won't affect my business. BTW I provide my employees with 5 sick days/year, don't see why obummer has to stick his nose in the employee/employer relationship

It's an executive order from POSOTUS which can be reversed by the next President before it takes effect. More of a self-aggrandizing gesture than anything else, it won't stand.
