Default High school football players take out ref.....unbelievable.

SAN ANTONIO — The Northside Independent School District is investigating a viral video taken during a John Jay High School football game that shows game official being tackled by two players.

The players have been suspended from the team pending an investigation.
The video was taken during the Mustangs' game against Marble Falls on Friday, which John Jay lost 15-9.
In the video, a John Jay player — wearing No. 12 — runs directly at the official during the play, starting from the Mustangs' 5-yard line. He runs about seven yards before running barreling into the official, who is standing in the center of the field with his back to the player.
A second player, standing a few yards away, then dives into the man as he lays senseless on the floor, leading in with his helmet before play is stopped.

In a phone interview with KENS Sports' David Flores on Sunday, NISD Athletic Director Steve Laing said the two players involved in the incident have been suspended from the team, pending an NISD investigation.

Yep. If you hit a ref during a play that's part of the game but those two little dickweeds obviously did it on purpose. If I had done something like that in high school my coach would have beaten me so badly that my father wouldn't have had much to work with when he finally got to me.

Yup...the good old days.

On a side note I had a nun pound my knuckles beat red with a ruler in the library for being stupid..saw her 20 or so years later and gave her the biggest hug.

Suspended pending an investigation? They should be suspended pending a beating.

I don't care what BS excuse they will come up with (the ref said something about my momma, he's a racist, etc), they should be charged with whatever crimes fit the bill - assault, battery, whatever. Might as well get them heading towards prison because that's their final destination anyway.

It's Texas High School football. They will likely get a slap on the hand if they are starters. Crazy shit though.

Yup. That sounds exactly like what would have happened in my high school, and my house!

While Texas High School football fans are probably only a close second to Alabama High School football fans, I am guessing Texans are not going to accept a smack on the wrist.

Could be wrong as high school football is huge money in Texas, both in facilities, salaries, and ticket sales.

Who is surprised that the players are now playing the race card, alleging the ref was making racist comments and calling penalties unfairly. If this were true then they should have had the coach and the school deal with it. Their vigilante actions are just one more example of society's degradation.

It's a sign that there are fifty cameras at a high school football game to catch the film and that non-news rules the airwaves.

So charge them with hate crimes in addition to assault

Seriously, I've read enough!!!

There both "Good Boys"

They need to be taken care of in a boxing ring. I'd put them up against one of my 12 year olds, mandatory 3 rounds, 8oz, smelling salts to wake each up after each knockout, mandatory 3 rounds full! That will teach these little snot nose ass hats a lesson they will never ever forget.

Sarcasm, right?

I'd hate to think kids would learn that it's OK to take cheap shots at someone they don't like.
