Stupid kids making stupid decisions .... breaking news: water is wet.

Charge them with assault and battery and ban them from any organized sport for life.

I would have begged my coach to put me out of my misery before my father got hold of me.

It may not be just the kids decision,

you don't think anyone said anything in the huddle or sideline after two kids already got ejected...

I understand what you are saying but that is very dangerous being speared like that...

Whether encouraged in the huddle or not, there are some thing you do not do. Tackling a ref is one.

If your team mates told you to shoot someone, would you do it? If so, in trial would your "someone told me to do it.." claim hold any water?

Just plain wrong.

With a total of 4 John Jay players ejected from that game, I'm thinking somebody needs to take a closer look at what the John Jay coach is teaching his players....unless this is all normal stuff for Texas high school football.

Exactly. If I had done that, please let the police get to me first because I honestly don't know what my dad would have to done to me for that one.

This is an easy decision for those kids. Battery charges and expulsion.

I can only imagine what my father would have done. And would hate to think what I would do to my son if put in that situation. I'll stop while I'm ahead.
(There just kids excuse doesn't apply here)

Hopefully those 2 will be banned from ANY high school sports for the rest of their career, no place for that in HS sports at all

Yes, I did not realize that a total of 4 players were ejected. That problem starts with the coach...

Cold-cocking is cowardly, but back-stabbing could have broken the guy's back. The ref needs to file charges, and if he doesn't, I start to question whether he caused some of this mess.

It's Texas High School football.

Oh, that explains it. Walk away, fans, nothing to see here, just another showcase of Texas education and parenting skills ...

I've been reading it in the "San Antonio News". There are a lot of comments blaming it on the coach

When I played ball yrs ago I was a tough MO FO ,,,, If my coach told me to do that ,,, NO WAY I!!!! I knew the consequences I would face at home !!! And mainly the disappointment I wouldve made my parents feel ! That was enough for me !!! Lke earlier poster said " He told me to " Does not hold water in the court of law !!!!
