Default My kid wins the World Karting Association National Championship!

My 6yr old kid just secured his title as the World Karting Association National Champ for his class called "Kid Kart". We have had an exciting summer traveling all over the USA racing with him. He started off his national campaign slow with some bad luck at Daytona and Mooresville, NC but has been on a tear since then winning in Indianapolis, Wisconsin, and Pittsburgh. Here are some pics and videos from the last event in Pittsburgh. Very proud poppa here. You can keep up with him at www.WatchBenRace.com which takes you to his FB page where you can follow him.

One of the Saturday Heat Races -

Onboard video from the final race on Sun, his winning run. You'll see him apply brake pedal pressure but it is a ways from engaging, he does this for stability, pretty boring since all the action was behind him -

Some photos of the last weekend

These karts go just over 40 and do just under 2.5 g's in the corner.

We have not been to Ocala yet but may go have a practice day this winter there with one of his buddies, Sebastian. He has already practiced all year for next year where he'll move up to "Cadet" karts. They go about 65. Bad to the bone.

The smile plastered all over his face says it all. Congrats! I know you couldn't be any more proud of him. Maybe this will lead him to a very successful career.
