Default A fast food worker refuses service to a cop in unifor

http://www.miamiherald.com/news/loca...e33541320.html

"According to a police report on the incident, the police officer was told by the manager, “(Davenport) doesn’t want to serve you because you are a police officer.”

After that, the officer said she wasn’t certain she wanted to dine at the restaurant, but the manager assured her everything was fine and handed the officer the food, according to the report.

The manager allegedly laughed about it and said the clerk was allowed to refuse to serve the officer."

It's going to get really interesting if civil servants and retail employees are free to make a personal decision whether to serve certain customers.

Isn't there a cafe in Seattle that refused to serve the TSA?

Certainly private establishments can make such decisions as they bare the burden of their decisions but the 14th Amendment prohibits unequal protect of laws.

“There’s no point in talking,” he said. “I’m 19. She’s an officer and I’m colored.”

It all depends on who's be served and who's doing the serving. After all . . . only BLM.

Wonder how he would feel if the officer refused to render him assistance if he needed it?

It's a shame as the majority of police officers are good people. However, the system is clearly flawed in our favor and us cops get away with mistakes and/or murder more so than not. We know the law and have the resources to turn it in our favor. It's really that simple.

As best I can figure, it is politically correct to refuse to provide goods or services to a man in blue. But the authorities will fine you and close down your business if you refuse to provide goods or services to a gay person.

From what I have read Arby's has not fired the employee. For that reason I will make it a point to never go to another Arby's. They have all closed around us anyways. I remember back in the 70's when Arby's would slice the beef with every order. Had a sandwich from there about a year ago and it sucked.

The cashier and the manager should be fired. I fire Arby's, won't be eating there again.

Try refusing to serve someone black, gay, whatever and see where it gets you.

Chick Fila woulda gave the officer her food for free and thanked her for serving the community.

Well, maybe not. But I'll still boycott Arby's now in favor of chick fila.

So the cake maker who refused to make a cake for a gay couple gets strung up from the highest tree, but it is ok not to serve a police officer?

Fucked up world.

"The manager allegedly laughed about it and said the clerk was allowed to refuse to serve the officer."
Oh, and the clerk just happened to be black.
Kenny Davenport maintains that neither he nor anyone else disrespected Sergeant Martin but he sees little use in explaining himself.
“There’s no point in talking,” he said. “I’m 19. She’s an officer and I’m colored.”

With the emotional and social issues between Law Enforcement and the black community at a very high level...possibly a poor choice to joke about.
