Default rode in my first cat today...

why did god have to make them so ugly?

The freeman 33 drifts better than any CC I've ever fished. It was incredible. My brother who always gets seasick didn't puke. 2-3's today out here and the boat was a rock.

I'd sell my yellowfin tomorrow and buy one if the mere sight of them didn't make me sick.

Great, practical vessel. Agreed CC guys?

Cats are a different creature... However the pros outweigh the cons IMHO...

Now some Carolina flare would be sweet on a Freeman!

On the positive side my girlfriends birth control is now very expensive. A cat would be cheaper to run and birth control costs would go to zero.

If I sold a yellowfin with black bottom paint for a cat I don't think I'd ever see a vagina again so it's moot.

The 37 Freeman is actually a pretty good looking boat ...and may be my next ride

IMHO Cats need to big - the smaller ones don't look as nice

How can performance be ugly to you?

I find them mean and bad ass looking with the forward slanting sharp hull.

I agree with this actually.

I still think that even boat people look at a yf 36 w/ trips and go "damn that looks cool." Whereas a freeman, even in 37, looks...fine. It's not ugly I agree but it's not good looking.

Not saying people should buy a boat based on looks, just giving a subjective opinion.

Thanks for posting the pic.

If someone is concerned about birth control costs, they should not own a boat.

I may be in the minority --- but I buy boats for looks first then settle on the performance I need ...

I would rather have a drop dead gorgeous boat that performs well - than a performance boat that doesn't look very nice ...

but thats just me

As the old sales saying goes, "There's an ass for every seat".
Every boat does something(s) well. Some are fast. Some ride great. Some drift really nice. And some make you say, "Man that's cool". Which is important depends on the buyer. To each his own, it would be boring if everybody liked the same stuff.

(I don't think I'd buy a boat I thought was ugly. But I've happily cashed the commission check for boats I thought were ugly)

Not me or anybody I know. We all look at Freemans and say "Damn that's a badass, awesome boat". 29 and 33 included. The pointy bows really help.

Opposite effect for me. Freemans look badass.

No need for a flare on a cat, other than an occasional sneeze they are very dry. At least the few that I've been on have been. I like the looks of most cats but I love the looks of the Freeman.

I was speaking of flare for aesthetics...

There was a dealer on Marco Island that was selling the Black Pearl. I think it was made in brazil? Where did you get yours? Cat 710 power? I rode on the demo boat and not sure how many they sold. Lots of room inside and in cockpit. Nice ride and Cat power for a Cat boat! Hope you enjoy it.

Freeman is the best CC on the water period.

Screw your yellowfin, etc.

It is that good.

If I were to switch I would add 25-35 minutes to my bahamas YF trips.

I'm not obsessed w/ my YF, or brand loyal, or whatever. I could sell it tomorrow for more than I paid. I love the freeman minus looks, a 3rd "in case chit" motor and that's it. I respect the boat I just don't know if it's for me.

I'm seriously considering a switch though considering 60% of my fishing or more is on the drift out of gulf or palm beach. More comfortable and roughly 70% fuel cost...good combination.
