Why Southport boats are so pricy? Are they really that good???

The look pretty nice to me.

Anyway it is in the end marketing. They price the boat for what they can get for it. The top tier and exclusivity image works well for many manufacturers if they put out a decent product, especially with non-essential play money products.

Then again I don't see to many outboard boats that I do not like

I wonder what the labor rate is up North compared to where they used to be built in North Carolina...

Professional boat builder magazine did a nice article on them not too long ago, the article was complementary and it appeared that quality control and engineering was above average.
