Default What is this thing?

I mowed my lawn after 6PM last evening, this morning I'm walking in the backyard and I see this thing sticking up out of the grass.

Aside from the fact that is looks like a phallic fungi, just what in the world is it. I have never seen anything like it anywhere.

I can't wait to hear the comments on this.............

When I was a kid, our less technical name for it was a "dead mans finger".

If I had found one of those as a kid, I would have chased my sister around the yard with it until she cried!
