Thumbs up TS Erika - gone

Good news, as of 9:30 est Erika has dissipated. Time to focus on getting ready for my vacation in 2 weeks. Dodged a bullet I think. Looks like south Florida might get some much needed rain.

The headlines are still pretty funny, " Florida braces as remnants of TS Erika approach ". It`s not even a TS anymore but they are still play`n it up. Where`s Jim at?

The only thing I hate more than 24 hour news channels is 24 hour weather channels.

Our local news guy Steve Weagal on the NBC affiliate in West palm called it correctly. He kept saying the storm had a high chance of breaking up.

He doesn't pander, which is a good quality in his job.

Sadly these hysterical ratings grabbers are going to cause folks to get complacent and not pay attention.

One of Weather Reporters come walking over to the weather screen putting on his jacket. I like the way they get so caught up in the storms. When the really get in to it they are at the screen with their tie loose shirt unbuttoned no jacket with their sleeves rolled up.
