God, what a cowardly and senseless act....Prayers to the family. Two children left with no daddy.

One network says mom is his alibi.

to be fair there is another thread here. The only silver lining is Texas does not mess around. If found guilty they will fry his ass quickly.

I hate to say it but this day and age you have to maintain situational awareness at all times even if going to the corner store. Its not easy and a PIA but given the current climate we live in it pays to be vigilant.

Yep...he is definitely "dark complected". Why am I not surprised? Animal. Poor cop and his family. Such a shame.

I was going to blame the news media for creating this current atmosphere of tension between law enforcement and the public, Then, it occurred to me that if the news media never reported any of the shooting-by-cop stories, like Ferguson, MO, social media would not only report them but do so with much more bias and misinformation. Couple that with the wacko who shot the news crew in Virginia and then posted a video of his own crime on Facebook.

I'm thinking the news media needs to become the place we trust to give us the actual truth when things happen, with no editorial opinions, just facts. I don't see the news media in that role today.

Most LE don't get direct experience with news media.I have had it with numerous outlets both national and local and VERY VERY FEW tell the facts without a spin or choosing the facts they care to report. The news media sucks ..

You are 100% correct. I think the narrative is crafted all the way from the top on down about how and what to say. Which is why more and more people get their news and information from multiple sources.
