Default Wings of Freedom Tour, Monmouth Airport, NJ

Went to the Wings of Freedom tour, which will be hosted at the Monmouth Executive Airport until this Saturday (August 29).

The were only supposed to have a P-51D, B-17G, and B-24J on hand, but this bird arrived a few moments after I got there:

I snapped a boatload of images, most of which are hosted here: http://combatace.com/topic/87015-win...utive-airport/

never been to the show but they fly over my house. Always enjoy seeing them. This year was pretty cool, the airport is very close to where I work. Saw the B24 and P51 fly directly overhead at low altitude

They will be down my way around labor day weekend. They fly right over my yard, its pretty amazing seeing them fly. 500 I believe for a ride, once around the airport.

I flew on the B17 for 35 minutes in May.

It was amazing and a lifetime experience. It was very humbling to look on the rear door and see a sign dedicated to the 80,000 brave heroes who lost their lives flying these aircraft.

They were charging $450 for a half hour ride in the either the '17 or the '24, and $2200 for the same time in the Mustang (though that rate included some stick time in that bird). The Mustang "experience" could be upgraded to an hour's duration for an additional $1100. Definitely bucket-list stuff.

I checked, and found that at other venues, they have also offered rides in the Mitchell (B-25), for the same rate as in the Liberator and the 'Fortress: http://www.electraforge.com/brooke/f...b25flight.html
