Default What could we do without?

I was thinking the other night about all the changes I've seen since I was a kid. It got me to wondering about what I would change, or get rid of if I had the ability. 2 things seem to sit the strongest with me. 1 Video games. Don't get me wrong Ive played my fair share. But it seems as they get more advanced and involved that the kids now just don't seem to "play" anymore. No going home and changing into play clothes and finding your neighborhood friends. They sit at home for hours and hours and stare at the tv or computer. I really do thing this has a strong impact on our kids health. Mine included. The 2nd I think would be the Internet. Again hours and hours spent online on websites, chatrooms, video games..etc. Not to mention how many peoples lives have been ruined by social media and the way the internet has become a feeding frenzy for these extremist groups not only to gain more followers, but also to stir up emotions and cause trouble among people who would normally be "shielded" from these groups. Its why I don't even like the news anymore.

Tell me what you would like to do-without.....Im curious to other peoples opinions and views

I could do without the rapid rate of change we are about to encounter. Everyday tings are advancing like never before, at some point my mind and most of the rest of you won't be able to keep up. If you think it was bad for your parents wait until you reach 70-80 and have to figure something out.

They are going to have to invent something to make things easier for the older folks at some point.

Smart Phones. I'd make them all vanish in a split second if I could.

I'm kind of with you on that. They've turned much of society into complete idiots. And nobody even uses them as a phone! My wife doesn't answer hers. "Text me." WTF???? ;?

Our whole governing system, the courts, law enforcement agencies, our entire political system and government, IRS etc... Abolish the whole damn broken lot of them and start over.

i have been thinking about going back to a flip phone. But smart phones do come in handy for directions or quickly looking something up.

Seems like a little more parental influence would solve the video game issue (not saying you).

As for the internet, I couldn't disagree more. The internet is the best educational tool in human history. Sure, there's a bunch of BS that goes along with it, but people today have virtually unlimited access to information about any and all topics.

If I could do away with anything, it'd be religion.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. We need to see what you're throwing away.
