Hey guys, We are heading down next week to check out temporary housing for me while I start work and we begin house hunting.

Last time we relocated, it was only a 150 mile move and we had an RV that we relocated and used as a base. We sold the RV, so we need to find either an extended stay type place or a short term rental.

One bedroom, kitchen, laundry, fully furnished and pet friendly. Nothing fancy at all, but clean and in a safe area.

Y'all got any ideas?

Thanks much!

Depends on where you want to be....I lived in the Old Northeast area of St Pete for several years and the nearby downtown area is really cool. St. Pete's downtown is very small but has a big city feel to it. However, if you are in the wrong areas of St. Pete it can be very rough! One really important bit of information needed is how much are you looking to spend?

He said in the title St Pete so probably St Petersburg Florida. Don't know too much about the short term rental market but I am sure it is going to only get better as school just started around here and the summer market is leaving.

I stayed at an Extended Stay for a couple weeks a few times and they weren't bad as long as you get a clean one. They're pet friendly also.

There's always the Salvation Army...

You know for transients, etc..

Lemme know when you get settled in and I'll get you on the water.

I need a good excuse to get out of the shop....

How long is temporary? If you'll be out by the holidays, you may be able to negotiate a good rate on a vacation rental. Check Craigslist or VRBO. It can be hard to fill vacation rentals during the fall in FL so I'm sure a few would consider an offer.

I found a good extended stay place off Gandy for very short term, would like to find an apartment/condo for next 7 months or so while we find "our place." Furnished would be better. Been checking all the normal sites. Any intel is appreciated guys!

not to derail, but there use to be a place to get a beer called zechicks or zychicks (sp)

5 dollars got you a plastic boot mug and cold drafts were a nickel all night....coldest beer ever....is it still there? come to think of it , it may be on the tampa side....too many years ago
