Default bad day incident update

I`d figure I would give an update after my dry boating incident. Well after taking the advise of the THT crew members, I filed a claim with my insurance company. I have a Boat US policy and I gotta tell ya, I was a little worried when I submitted the claim and they came back and said this claim is subjected to depreciation. I`ve had a policy thru Boat US for 10 years now so my deductible was zero. When I submitted a few quotes for repairs I was thinking I`d be on the hook for at least 3/4`s of the cost. My boat is 10 years old so I figured I wouldn't`t get much out of them. I do have to say, I keep my boat stored inside when ever it`s not in use so it looks pretty damn good for a 10 year old boat if I say so myself. A lot of people can`t believe its 10 years old. Anyway, I heard back from the insurance co. and they covered everything except the canvas top. They depreciated the canvas 90% of the original cost so I`m out $250.00 for the whole repair. Boat US will always have my insurance on my boat.

I do get a kick out of many here who seem willing to do just about anything to avoid making a claim on their insurance policy. If you sign an insurance contract and pay your premium, you are entitled to certain benefits from a covered incident.

What's with the depreciation stuff, do they lower your primium every year knowing they won't pay the full amount?

Great to hear when a business steps up!

Why has good customer service all but disappeared?
