Default Please Help My Yellow Lab!!

My yellow lab, Roxy, needs your help! She is in need of surgery to remove a large tumor on her abdomen. I can't stand to see her suffer anymore. I'm hoping my fellow boaters will help me raise funds so that I can get my best friend back to normal again. A dollar, $20, even a nickle. It all helps.

If you don't know me I live in the Austin, TX area and love to fish mostly around the central coast area. I most certainly was not born with a golden spoon in my mouth and have had to work hard for everything I have. To pursue my passion for fishing I first bought a 14ft jon boat that I fixed up, later a sit on top kayak, and after that I finally saved up enough for a small 14ft center console boat which I recently sold to put money down on our house. I've had a rough go of things lately dealing with my mom's cancer returning. I'm a young professional trying to make ends meet. I just proposed to my fiance and are getting married in April 2016.

Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated! Here is a link to Roxy's Go Fund Me page. http://www.gofundme.com/tx2mdu7s

An complete address with phone number to the vet that will be doing the surgery along with other forms of information that we can research might go a long way to help your cause. Lots of " Go-fund" scams around there and with your post count being on the low side, not sure many folks know you!

Don't shoot the messenger, just trying to help.

Sounds legit and the site lists his personal info..

Donation made.

The picture of his dog is really hard to look at.

I hope Roxy does well with the operation. Looks like you are pretty far along to funding it.

"399 posts on the low side?"...I think 399 posts since 2012 from a less than verbose individual is a good indication that they are a solid member of our online community.
Will donate

How fast did that thing grow...says raised more than the 1500 you requested, does that mean surgery is 1500?

I hope I have this wrong..OP

This is a post from you on 8/4/15...

Tempted to switch from a fishing boat to a ski boat. I've always like the old Nautiques and Mastercrafts. What are the pros and cons on any of the late 80's ski boats? (Supra, Ski Nautique 2001, Mastercraft, etc.) Looking to spend $8K. What kind of problems are these boats prone to having?

As always, I will make a small donation for friends. Brian, Get Roxy to the vet, as the fund is $1785 now.

Good luck, Roxy!

Donated as well. I know the feeling, my dog just had his ACL repaired. $3,500. Hope Roxy makes a full recovery.

Maybe he didn't have money issues back then ??

Anyway we went through some similar realization. A friend had a go fund me for her handicapped child's special custom bikeseat. OK so we donate. Next time they come up North they have a brand new high end BMW, and show pic of their new home addition with a designer kitchen that looked like it was in Architects Digest...

Credit card or payment plan with the vet. Even a combination of that. Sorry, I'm a dog lover but I have to draw the donation line somewhere.

I wish you and your dog well but I find the idea of begging (no matter what the reason) distasteful. If you can't afford to care for a pet maybe you shouldn't have one.
