Default Craigslist success story

Sold my GMC 2500 HD this weekend on Craigslist. Had 4 people look at the vehicle & one came ready to buy. He wrote me personal check for truck, which I held until we met at his bank to finalize sale this morning. Bank teller cashed the check for me & witnessed Bill of Sale, I turned over the keys, truck and title finalizing the deal. I know Craigslist gets bashed a lot on here, but I continue to find it the easiest way to buy & sell.

I've had nothing but good experiences selling stuff on CL e.g. cars, suv, boat, cloths dryer, furniture, mountain bike, left over Hardi-plank, beat up teak patio furniture etc...

I've bought and sold stuff up about 2k in value. Bought a desk Friday. Never had a problem. Quick phone call (not text) and it's easy to sort through BS.

This was a $10,100 sale, the truck needed tires & windshield. Luckily all but 2 inquiries were serious buyers. I did receive lowball offers of $8,000 & $8,500 sight unseen via text which were told no thanks.

Bought and sold quite a few things over the years on CL. Cars, jewelry, TV's, treadmill (bought 5 years ago sold Saturday). Best deal was my boat in 2009 - one owner 2005 with 66 hours on it for half the original price!

Easy to see the crooks "Is this item still for sell?" Never had a problem.

Not to mention the fees for selling on Ebay have gone way up.

Selling boats can be the biggest hassle, since they're the easiest objects to tire kick. but I've found and met alot of cool people out there. Some I've become friends with

CL is only as good as your ad, your product and your expectations. Certain products, like used bricks and sub $5k autos, attract the bottom rung of humanity. Higher-end items or upper-tier rentals attract a more palatable buyer group. I've had overall great success with CL over the years, the bozos are easily spotted and you can blow them off before they waste too much time.

I have had good experiences selling things on Craig's List. Only take cash. Never bought things on Craig's List.

The only problem I have had on CL is the girls in the photos are typically not the girl who shows up at the motel.

good deal for you!

I have bought and sold everything from boats, cars, and now I am on an old iphone selling spree. Had a drawer full of old Iphones going back to 3's and 4's and realized they just get less valuable every month.

Love CL

I also have great luck renting vacant rentals and storage units.

You just have to have patience, time, and sense. I too have met some real comically clownish people to people I wouldn't mind having a beer with.

I am one of the CL Haters. This was all due to a bad experience.

I have been using local groups on Facebook with success. There is a South Fl Boating and Fishing section that gets a lot of action.

I've sold all kinds of items successfully on craigslist. Boats, cars, minivans, camera equipment - all decent price tag stuff and have never had any issues whatsoever. It remains my go to, easiest sale method.

Best of all, no fees or commissions from the sale, all the proceeds go to me.PayPal and Ebay will rape you silly...
