Default Shooting range/Bar

Coming to Fl. folks, I'm pretty sure this will end up being a big mistake. Why you'd but alcohol and a shooting range together is beyond me.

We have one here in OK. I have not been but they have strict rules. I think if you are using the shooting range you get a wrist band and cannot go into bar area and vice versa. Something like that.

You folks need to use a little common sense. No alcohol until after you have shot. Then no more shooting after you have been served. I shoot at OK Corral in Okeechobee. Skeet, pistol and rifle range, cowboy shooting. You can have a drink with your lunch AFTER you are done shooting. Do you really think they will let you drink and then shoot ?

Great idea. Be especially good if you could shoot your beer bottles after you drink.

I just picture some yahoo going out to the range, meet up with a few buddies, store guns in trunk of car or cab of truck and kick back over some beers. All is good until some other yahoo starts talking some smack. At some place, soon enough it will happen and it will be bad for all gun owners.

On the up side, I bet they never get held up.

Nothing wrong with it. Any (most) clubs that allow alcohol have a zero tolerance policy that you shoot first and then have a couple after you are done and the guns are back in the truck. I used to shoot boxed birds and some of those guys would have a nip just to calm em down a little. Nobody got to the point that I didn't trust shooting with them. Hell, I'd rather shoot with someone who knows what they are doing after a couple nips that some of the idiots that are much more dangerous while totally sober.

When I first started trap shooting it was a bar in the meadowlands in Ridgefield, NJ. That was back in the70's. There was some drinking and some shooting going on. Nobody got hurt as far as I recall. At least while I was there. Shit, you didn't even have to wear a seat belt in your car back then either.

Exactly. Someone could easily go to the bar or drink at home before going to the range, but nobody is concerned about that. Put a bar at the range and people get all freaked out. Where do you think a lot of people go after the range? A bar! Put them together and it all works out.

Sounds like a good time to me. Local range around here does a wine night for the ladies, they shoot first then enjoy some wine and talk after.

At my airport more than 50% of the private aircraft hangars have beer fridges in them. Never had any alcohol related incidents.
