Default How Much Food Do You Have?

My wife and I just got back from shopping for those "weekly things". As I put them away, I realized that we probably could easily go an entire month without buying one more thing, never miss a meal, and still have food to spare. It's just the 2 of us, but we have 2 refrigerators full of food and drinks, and multiple cabinets (pantry, corner lazy susan, and 3 uppers) full of cans and dry food.

Is anyone else like this? ..........I'm lookin' around for space to put another frige.

Yes, two refrigerators and a freezer full along with the pantry. I buy meats and chicken when it is on sale and freeze.

Same as OP. Two fridges, a stand up freezer, full pantry and cabinets. Dozen big cans of coffee, lots of drinking water. And a whole bunch of other stuff. I think it's too much, but wife insists just in case something happens.

the only reason I can see to store alot of food is either buying in bulk or you live 50 miles away from the nearest grocery store....I walk about 200 yards to the Winn Dixie so we don't keep much around...2 fridges and an extra freezer???? (unless you keep lots of fish you caught)....the generation that lived through the great depression, (my parents) always had tons of food on hand...literally...tons....

One small fridge usually about 1/2 full. Wife shops 2-3 days a week. We sometimes have a lot of meat as we buy a crap load at Costco and then it goes down over about 6-8 weeks.

No kids.

I have a small freezer I keep outside but it is for bait and ice.

Were not "preppers" but we have a years worth of freeze dried food and other emergency provisions in addition to all of the stuff in the fridges and freezers. Better safe than sorry.

When you have a hurricane Katrina hit you and your without power for 28 days and have to feed your elderly aunts, uncle's etc you tend to keep plenty of food on hand. It was a nightmare. I fed 15 people a day for a month. With the help of some awesome guardsmen who landed their helo and gave us mre's
