Default Samuelsohn Suits

Anyone wear them?

Trying to get a classic/conservative suit around $1200-1500. I usually go Tom James, but want something a little different. Anybody wear them?

Can't say I have ever heard of them.
Looking at their website - doesn't look like anything I'd ever buy - didn't really see any classic suits on there.
You might want to look at Alan David, their store is just East of 5th Ave on 40th St (NYC), www.alandavid.com
You can get some nice custom suits there. Most of the ones I have bought from them have been in the $1,300-1,500 range plus another $300-350 for a second pair of pants.

Yes, I swear by their blue blazer. Traditional manufacturer with a traditional fit. Well made. Fit me very well as I am a classic 40 regular coat with an athletic cut for the trousers.

Could you buy a better suit, sure, but for my needs Sam is the way I go. Hickey Freeman would be a more expensive alternative you may also consider.

Never heard of them, sorry.

No doubt, in that range, you can get a good Hart Schaffner & Marx or Hickey Freeman but one thing to think about, a custom suit starts at around $500 at (probably many places) this place I've gone to for shirts Enzo.

http://www.yelp.com/biz/enzo-custom-...iRw0FZlYdMr5tw

Custom shirts start at $80/per if you buy 6 or more.

I used to use Ascot Chang for shirts (very expensive) and their custom suits start at $2,000 but the ones from Enzo seem to be just the same...time will tell how well they hold up though.

I wouldn't rec AC as the last batch had some errors so I went and searched for other places and ended up at Enzo.

Good luck

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm in SF at the moment. I'll look around the financial district once things die down next week.
