I'd be a tad more specific....calves liver.

Jestines Kitchen downtown Charleston will serve chicken livers and onions if you order "liver and onions".
I'm with you, though. The admiral just shakes her head when I order it

I knew someone was going to say liver and onions. We had that growing up. I really love just about anything but if I had to eat liver and onions today I'd probably barf. And, I haven't barfed in over 40 years.

Gosh!!!!! You guys are bringing up stuff I've loved to eat. Bloodwurst (or Blutwurst) that my grandfather made was the best. It was made at slaughtering time (obviously). Long time ago - brings tears to my eyes. Liver and onions - YUM!!

Chicken gizzards. I know of a few places that I can get them, even in different cities. I never forget about them when in those areas.

The Tijuana Mama's are good!

Love scrapple! Can't find scrapple anywhere out here, but I went treasure hunting in the grocery stores when back in Alabama last fall. Piggly Wiggly carries all the good down home stuff! Brought home 5 frozen blocks of Habbersett. Also 4 boxes of Old Folks brand frozen hot sausage patties -- oh my god, I love these things! .

Add anchovies on pizza, spam, canned salmon, and I like many foods cold -scrambled eggs, lobster, and baked beans

Man oh Man. Most all southern food is frowned on by northerners but it's stuff we grew up on.
Vieenees, potted meat, collards, turnips and mustards, cracklin bread, grits, livers and gizzards, okra(fried, stewed, or in gumbo) beef tripe, souse meat, mayhaw jelly, beanie weanies, hoecake (yanks call it Lacy Cornbread. the list goes on and on.

Oh, and dont forget chitlins. Yall would LOVE them

Who eats Hominy anyway? and what the heck is it? swollen corn? Thats what we call mash. Its used for bourbon!
