If you have a place by you, that videos you walking and running they cannset you up with the correct shoes to help you out with it.

My wife has/had it where they video ed her walking and running. Suggested some inserts as well as pricy shoes and she hasn't had to deal with it in over a year.
I believe the place she went to, was Run-N-Tri.

3 years I battled it. Absolutely sucks. It's gone now.

Go get arch inserts for all your shoes. Stiff ones. Some are even hard plastic or carbon fiber. Those are the best ones and the most effective.
I've purchased them at sports Authority and also places that have the Dr Scholl foot testers you stand on.
Wear them religiously for 6 months and the pain will be gone.
If you wear lots of flip flops stop until the pain goes away. Then switch to flops with good arch support like OloKais.
Mines been gone a couple years now. This has also helped a few others I know.

I figured that out after multiple doc visits, cortisone shots etc...even a $200 pair of inserts the doc made for me.
I even bought a pair of spring shoes.
The key is stiff supports in ALL your footwear until it's gone.
The arch stretches do help and offer some pain relief.

PS: Where did you stay? Ocala or Gainesville
BottomPicker and SolOps like this.

We were so tired I cant remember - but I think the Courtyard Marriott on the West side of 75... Then ate so much fried food at Gators dockside ... but the FIFA match was good

I wear Okulai flips everyday .. I think thats part of the problem... Will go find a foot place for some insoles and see if that help...

Man - when the pins and needle pain comes on that first step out of bed it really hurts ....

Still looking for Oxy

What The Revenge said. The Dr. Scholl inserts I got work better than the ones my orthopod charged me 5 times more did.

Couple of Aleve also helps, someone on THT also sent me some great stretches.

Prevention is also critical to prevent reoccurrence. Throw away the flip flops and sandals, wear the inserts ALL the time you are on your feet.

Mine is aggravated by weight gain. Just a few pounds too, I can go on a holiday binge and gain 5 pounds and dang near be disabled by plantar fasciitis.

I just went through it.
Cortisone shot in the foot, anti inflammatory pills for several weeks, and stiff shoe inserts.
It's a lot better now.

Get yourself some Brooks GTS running shoes. Pack them with
your favorite heel cups and arch inserts.

I can't wear anything else. No help on the oxys.

Custom hard plastic orthotics for me. Left foot has a high arch . Rolling your arch over a frozen can of veggies is one doc therapy. Ping the orthotics guru , Johnny Dreamer , that's what he does for a living...

Yep..have has this for over 20 years. Get orthotics and lose the stuff with no arches, sandals , flip flops etc. Some people have very good luck with online orthotics (not hard plastic). They send you a box with foam/ you step in it and mail it back. They send you the inserts . Cost is about $100 vs $400 for orthopedic ones. I have a bunch and use them in everything. I got them from Am Fit.

Had it flare up on my right foot. Did a lot of stretching each morning, putting a towel around the bottom of the toes and pulling up. Stretching calf muscles up and down on the edge of the steps and used shoe inserts. Finally, it got better.

Until about 6 months ago…when it showed up in the left foot! Nothing is helping with the left foot! And it really hurts after spending a day in the boat!.

I think someone needs to design a device that can stretch out your achilles while you're sleeping. Then , that first step out of bed wouldn't hurt so much.!

Start with the insets, I tried three different types; one from DSW @$30, one from a walking store @$60 and had a set made through a Dr. @ $400. They all helped ease the problem. Here the two things that finally helped solve the issue, massage (it hurts like hell but the heel/calf needs to be stretched) and a frozen bottle of water. At night in front of the TV just roll your foot back and forth. If you are just starting to feel the problem work fast as it will get worse. If you wear sandals order ones that are the softest you can find.

Road Runner sports has a "custom" insole. They put you on a treadmill and evaluate your gate. They select an insole based on this and mold it to your foot. Very comfortable. Plantar finally knocked me out of the running box after 25 years of running 40 miles a week. I now walk and lift weights to stay in shape.

They actually make a night splint. I had one made but I can only sleep on my belly, dang near impossible to do with that thing....I found that hanging my foot over the foot of the bed helps.

Almost forgot about the frozen bottle of water trick someone mentioned. Helps a lot.

Nobody else is shocked that Triplenet lives in South Florida and cannot score oxy's?

You're slipping, brutha!

Try Big Al. He can have them delivered in 30 mins or less by a blonde with big boobs and an ass that tastes like french vanilla ice cream. (For a small upcharge, of course.)

A guy that works with me is battling this as well. He shared this information with me to pass on to my mom. He swears by this, but my Mom hasn't tried it yet. Here is the videos that he shared with me.\

I had it and it sucks! I was running 3 miles a day and it put a stop to that for 7mo. First step out of bed in the morning was the worst!
