What are they doing? Is this the first 100 hours, or is the motor at a milestone that needs more parts? Impeller?
Also- is the PM including all internal fuel filters and strainers? I'd recommend doing those at each 100 hour interval, they are the achillies heel on modern outboards..

Yes first 100 hours. They do change filter, fluids, etc. I will say it's done 100 percent and its a brand new motor so keeping it serviced will help sell down the road. is what it is

Getting my 300 hour done this week. I'll post that price when I get it back in a few days.

^^This! The 100 hr service is beyond simple. Plenty of YouTube videos to get you started. My Marina wants $750 per Yamaha 150...ridiculous. Learn to do it and save your pennies

I replaced my prop shaft on my 90 zuk. I can't imagine a 100hr service being more difficult than that. I'll save my $600.

When I built my 30 express 13 years ago the nay sayers said the single diesel would cost more to maintane. My service cost me $550 every 300 hours, less than a 3rd of the OB. I rebuilt the motor, rewired and painted the bilge for 23k after 6000 hours last year, less than a 300 HP OB that rarely would make 6000 hours plus the diesel is 450HP. These outboards for $100/hp plus the service requirements/costs don't make much sense to me any more. I own a 90 four stroke too.

Service Manual $100
Maintenance parts $180
Knowledge of your motor and how it works. Priceless.

Let the shops deal with heavy repairs and warranty work. Do your own maintenance.

Sometimes I think they price annual maintenance at such a high price that only the "more cash than brains" people will pay. (this is not intended to insult those that pay for annual maintenance, do what works for you)

Don't be that guy. Pick up a wrench.

but 98% of the folks out there can't rebuild a motor, let alone a diesel....so for those folks, the diesel is massively more expensive to maintain!

Doing your own maintenance doesn't void warranty?

Our 100 was $475. Waiting to see the "damage" for the 200 hour.

You made a huge assumption, I paid to have it rebuilt. The numbers don't lie. Outboards have become more expensive to maintane than the safer more reliable diesel. Their cost to purchase is about the same per HP.

do the service yourself. I just did my 200 hr service . My dealer wanted $800. I bought all the tools and parts and saved about $500. It is not hard at all.
